Auto or photo - both work on photosynthesis.
I’ve never done a side by side to say with any certainty. But since we try our best to emulate nature it can’t hurt.
I would say it was probably some time after equinox because of civil twilight. That’s the light after the sun actually sets. But that’s just a guess from growing outside down in the Lower 48.

I’ve never had an auto finish outdoors up here. Alaska. Came close once. This is the main reason I theorize reducing light hours to get autos to finish. I only run them outdoors and for fun at that. We’re running 35 plants in a greenhouse and only 2 are autos. Cuttings are taken all through the season from the photos. Then just before freeze the plants with just tops by then are brought in under lights. The damned autos have to go in with them.
