Those High Times pics DID look like shit weed.......Lots of buds were dense nugs back then, not as dense as todays tho.......The combo of thc and the terps determine potency. Todays strains have a lot more terpenes.....Science has taught growers exactly what nutes are needed, its just most ppl OVERUSE'm......less is better, and only use if absolutely necessary, to preserve a nice sweet smooth taste. I've grown outdoors for a long time, this spring will be my first indoor crop. If my idiot neighbor can grow I can grow better.

have a two pipe's, and I use them sometimes, but if going to sleep I have to use more weed to sleep, so I roll a joint. I only have a GED from a public school, and been to Viet Nam, police officer, over the road truck driver, played music full time for several years, so I lived life a little more that you. Yes, there's complex terpene profiles out there, but the chase for thc is making other cannabinoids disproportionate. Not saying their all bad. I grew ghost train haze 2 years ago and I still miss it. That's a "super weed" I can stand behind

Just curious here, if you want old school flavor why not grow some old school strains instead of new autos?
One of my favorite strains for a distinct flavor is White Widow, it's got its own specialness.
Also you asked what landrace was. landrace strains are native to certain areas and have not been out crossed or hybridized.

Some of the best weed I've ever smoked was back in the late seventies. The Hawaiian we used to get was out of this world. The Panama Red, Acapulco Gold, Jamaican, Thai sticks., etc... Sure there are more potent strain s today. Nothing compares to those old school sativa's. Then in the early eighties the Indica's showed up and changed everything. Those were good times and the weed was exceptional. The were not as strong as some of the stuff today but I think it was better. I don't need or want 29% THC. 15 -17% with great taste and effect is what I'm looking for. If I want anything stronger then I'll smoke some dry ice hash.

I don't think anybody actually answered this question for you. So....
A landrace strain is one that has not been crossed with any other strain and is exclusive to a region.
IE: Mozambique Poison was a sativa landrace strain from sub saharan africa.
People tried to grow it indoors here in america, but it didnt do well, plus it took 16 to 20 weeks to finish flowering. So it was crossed with some indicas here to shorten flowering time and to grow better indoors.
