ok so a buddy of mine came to my house with a weed plant, but when i seen it it didnt look like no weed plant, it was in a pot with only the stem sticking out of the soil no nodes no leafs But a massive root system seems like the plant was cut off, i was wondering if it is possible if it can re-grow? idk if it can grow New nodes and leafs wondering if its possible for it too??

any idea thanks!
As long as taproot is intact it can survive
Pay no attention to anyone else they got no ed on the subject just worthless opinions

OK....I know this is an old thread but...
There is such a thing as a "root cutting" where you can grow a clone via just a chunk of root. Never done it...never saw it done, but I've heard of it. Google it...

I'm a bonsai artist...have been a grower of all things for over fifty years. In bonsai when root bound we tease out the root ball and cut off sometimes half the root ball. With any house plant if you don't want to keep getting bigger an bigger pots you cut off two thirds of the root ball and the plant grows like crazy because what's growing below is what is growing underneath..... I just took a small bonsai saw and sawed three inches all around my five gal pots. Then put new soil in and gave it a good soak with super thrive....jezz its a plant! One guy said the same thing except he cuts the bottom of his plants off then replants in new soil. I'm doing this to reveg my plants.....let's see if a old grower of everything can get away with my technique.... I know it works on evey other plant I've ever owned. Is this weed something special??!!?!

Meant to say what's growing on to is equal to what's growing beneath.... Its called regeneration of the root ball....it works on everything I've ever done this practice with.

Many times I have seen new amazingly small baby sprouts burst out at a node previously cut off. Always surprises me. Of course they always had plenty of growth above as well. So without green above to power the growth I don't see it happening, but shit can grow where you don't expect it to come out of for sure.
