Weed in Canada has ZERO value

I was told in Toronto lb's of very nice high end is attainable for $650.
I think this has tapped out now for bottom pricing.
I still see some vendor trying to get $1800 still. WTF ....Can't believe they advertise it at that nuttsy high price.
I'd like to know what the cost is to produce the lb that sells for $650. Any idea what the profit margins would be like... ball park, anyone? Not as much of a hit for larger "productions"...

I couldn’t do it for that and be profitable to the point of it being worth my time. Outdoor or greenhouse is about the only way I could see being able to pull it off. If you had enough volume inside you might be able to get pretty low on price but the labor it takes to go that big would make it hard to find workers. Really because you couldn’t afford to pay them more than minimum wage at that price point.

Labor is the problem. Even post-harvest alone for top shelf is at least $150/lb just to get it trimmed and packaged.

So that takes it down to $500 for the grower before paying for growroom labor, rent and electricity, not really seeing it unless that 650 price is for buying 50+ lbs at a time.

Black market cannabis isn't exempt from the labor shortages the entire country is facing right now. People don't want to work for $20/hr or less.

Retailers are fucking crushing it right now though, competition is tough but retail ounce prices are still fairly stable for top-shelf flower. Buying $1100 packs and selling them by the ounce or QP for $2800+ and they move quickly.

I can grow a pound trimmed and packed for $25. But that being said I do all the harvest myself. I have 3 greenhouses each can produce 25-40 pounds depending on the method. It takes me 2 weeks very long days to harvest that much alone. Now that I have a bucker it will take 2 days per greenhouse. I do only light dep and if I had to pay trimmers you can tack on $200 a pound range.

Well if you're paying for hydro you're paying $50+ per light in hydro every month. If you get say 2Lb dry per light and it takes you 3 months per crop 2-4weeks neg and 8-10 week flower that's $75 per lb just in hydro not including any Heat/AC/dehu requirements and fans/etc..

One you start adding in extra costs, not including the rent on the properly you can easlily get into $200/lb production cost.

Pretty much exactly this. Last time I worked it out it was like $190/lb with all hydro, water, nutes, growing medium etc.

There is some pretty bad stuff up here now. Not sure if its pgr but its horrible. Cant roll it, doesnt burn. 100 a lb. Might be good to extract. I cant grow it for the price it sells for. Shit l pay more for the water than they sell it for. Is it all stolen weed maybe? The big companies are screwing the whole deal up too, money shouldnt dictate. Im glad its losing worth, soon only quad A will suffice as salable. All b grade will go back to those growers. Let them smoke it, if l pay 20 a gram to get something special it should be at the least good. I want to remember that shit!

The two shops I visit here in North Vancouver Canada chary for average weed between 40 and 60 per 3.5grams which is just if not more expensive before it was legalized.

I think with the rain and flooding in BC we can clearly say the bottom was hit for pricing, will be climbing up from here on out.

Lots of grows knocked offline, hope all you guys are doing well.

I agree. We have hit rock bottom with pricing. I've actually seen a very small uptick in demand and prices.

How do you feel the recents floods aided in this happening... that's where you lost me lol.
