Weed Drying Suggestions?

I am a newbie so don't go too hard on me. I am trying to figure out how to dry my weed in my circumstances. I plan to have an outdoor grow with 15 autoflowers (more experienced friend will be helping me a bit). I understand that this is rather ambitious and it probably won't work out but we'll see. The shed outside has no power but it does have two windows and is pretty dark. It is fairly damp in the room too so I will need to control the humidity. Temperature should not be an issue (it'll always be about 70F when it comes harvest time). The shed itself is 200 maybe 250 square feet. Smell is the biggest thing for me, though. I need some way to control the smell. I have a budget of $100-200 (I could push it if it is an absolute necessity).

While there's some debate about the optimum humidity or dryness of fully-cured cannabis, around 65% is close to the desired figure. So, I think you're gonna have to quantify the humidity and go from there.

Well, I've decided that I'll just have to find some way to power the shed. What would be a good dehumidifier be for 15 autos? Additionally, I plan on using a carbon filter to control the smell. I think I've settled on this one:

I have humidity and temp issues with my drying area. I purchased a wedryer xl and have successfully dried 5 plants in it. Its basically a hanging drying rack with the sides light proofed a carbon filter and an upside down fan buit in. It does a good job man check it out and works pretty dam good for smell too. Theres a few reviews on some of the forums they seem all good, seems to do good on retaining smell and terps as well. Gotta keep an eye and check on the dryness daily to pull the plants out and jar. Ive heard of peeps leaving plants in there too long and over drying but didnt happen to me and my watchful eye.. happy growing....

If you’re growing 15 plants outdoors the smell is gonna be present well before you put them in the shed.

When it comes to drying weed, a bit slower is better for flavor

True, but the growing area is rather far from the shed and is isolated from people. Its a good ways away (about an acre or so). The shed is closer to the house and the neighborhood. Harvest day will suck walking back and forth but it is better than no grow.

I was in the same situation as you last year, I had to dry 2.5 lbs in a shed where I had no temp or humidity control, I blacked out the windows and kept a strong fan moving air beneath the buds where the hung. Made sure to give a lot of space inbetween the buds and it worked great. I either got lucky or did something right but that's what you get when doing it outdoors.
Unfortunately my situation hasn't changed this year but I was able to get a good dehumidifier in case the humidity becomes a problem.

You’ll need power imo no way around it
If prying eyes are an issue maybe start the harvest at dusk and haul in the dark

You’ll need to pick the dehumidifier based on the size of the shed too.


sounds like you’ll need a small generator.
