Wedding Cake-week 2 flowering

I’ve gotten a few seeds from an 8th I bought from a dispensary. This is my first grow and didn’t do much except grow in living soil and water using kelp extract and molasses. Currently, the plants are in their 2nd week of flowering and just noticed small buds popping up all around.
Been reading up on bag seed and am still keeping an eye out for any hermie trait. So far I haven’t seen anything yet. Fingers crossed*

Think he said it was a bag seed. I actually love bagseeds and wedding cake. The good thing about bagseeds is you get the small variation of the strains it was made from. Like u will probably get a more kush don maybe a gsc leaner or og pheno and then one in between . Looks great tho!

Wedding Cake is a wonderful smoke. Pretty easy to grow and yields well with her rock hard frosty goodness. I had a cut from a buddy that was really good then I got the breeder cut and wow, impressed.

Here is one of my girls wedding cake plants on day 19 of 12/12. It's in a mobile rig (5 gallon in a bucket dolly) with a drain line so I can roll it out the way to get to my plants. She usually pulls about a pound off one of those but this one got taller than usual, oh well.

I'm also growing from bag seeds that i got from dispensaries. They're growing quite well (now in week 5 of flower) but the thing im most curious to find out is will it smoke better than the actual weed i found the seeds in. A majority of the herb i purchased from dispensaries was dry almost tasteless and turned to dust when you grind or break it down it was kinda disappointing. Anxious to see goe it turns out... only a few weeks to go.

thats due to bad curing or brittle plants. In most cases you will get better meds , at least I do cause I keep my plants small and shower them with care . You can get all kinds of phenols of them . I have done at least 20 bagseeds in the past , and a couple were just amazing and better than the nugs I got it from . Especially since you get them from stressed plants. Also now that packaged meds are the only legal meds they have to dry them a bit more to make sure they don’t mold.

Makes sense, I assumed my own freshly grown flower would be a much better smoking experience than its dispensary counterpart can't wait to try it out. Like you I've been showering mine with attention and love.

DAMN!! I’ve been trying to find any strain info on growing wedding cake and most sites have little to no info other than it’s a difficult strain to grow.

Currently on week 3 of flowering
- I had to pull one of my plants due to crab claws popping up everywhere. Didn’t want to take the risk and pulled it last night
- there was some burnt leaves due to the light being around ~4-5 in from crown of plant. Bent some of the stems that were growing taller than others and raised light
- hopefully stretching has stopped? My lights are almost touching the hanging rod and have no more space in my tent
- been watering every 2 days: RO water + molasses + easy weed seaweed extract. Any advice or recommendations on improvement?
- did some light trimming on the base of the plants. Removed fan leaves and also small branches that don’t get much light. Used those cuts to layer onto bed of medium. Then watered hour before lights off

sorry for the long post. Been only a week but had a lot of news to share!!

SMOKE TIIIIIIIIME!!
