Weather is awful. Expected to lose power. Suggestions?

idk if this would help but maybe a simple flashlight to let the plant know there is still day and night might reduce the stress a little and keep the guy in the schedule, maybe also reduce the chance of herming? IDK not actually advice just got me wondering lol

Damn that sucks. I'm in Portland but still have power. It went off the other day for about an hour but it's been on ever since.

I'd be more concerned with keeping the plants warm than the lighting for a short amount of time.

With the temps warming up though you might not lose power. It's 39° right now so there shouldn't be any more issues with power lines and ice.

Damn, good luck guys...nasty weather all around.
Nova Scotia is about to receive 12+ hrs of freezing rain.
I am equipped though, but I feel for all that are not.
Here we go again...

Find someone who will lend you a generator in return for some weed.
I will try when power is restored. Lotta folks have no web/charging access. Glad I got a HAM license. So I can embarassingly talk to well prepared people who "want to know what the commotion is about...!"

God, I miss Idaho. Except for the part where Idaho FUCKING HAAAAAAAAAAAAAATES WEED like a venereal disease. Snow-people are my people.

Lucky your in soil, helps a lot compared to hydro.
Like other people said battery powered lights can keep the plants on the same schedule, they won’t need a lot of light.
Second keeping them warm is very important I’d suggest a little tent heater for camping.

this little guy turns off if tipped or low O2

Was going to suggest this one too. Only like $35 for the burner. 20210215_144518.jpg
PS- the black and yellow totes are full of trim!lol

Week 6 flower. All out of generators everywhere. And I live in a townhouse. Garage is insulated and stays warm due to gas furnace (which will stay on despite power outage). Can prob keep it at 62-65 for 12-18 hours.
How does anything other than the pilot light stay on? You need power to power the fan that blows the heated air. Am I missing something?

those would work great too,I like it fits on larger bottles without adapters.

what I like about heaters designed for camping in tents or campers is they have a kill switch when oxygen levels get low. And a kill switch if it gets knocked over making it pretty safe for indoor use in a situation like this power outage

Being in Ice Storm Country, I’ve been through this more than one time, made it with a couple flashlights, if it last several days you will have mutant lookin plants but they will be fine.

Yeah Coleman and Mr heater have ceramic heaters that are designed to be safe for indoor use. Some even have electronic ignition and thermostats.

You aren't. I wasn't thinking. The pilot/pan put out a lot of heat, but no fan. The furnace/grow area are close, and under a built out section that captivates the warm air.

Also! I found a way to increase the pilot flame slightly (if needed) and the flame puts out a bit of heat. I dunno, just McGuyvering around life like a renegade.

OK, were you serious about the snowmobile? If you were, while you are at the hardware store pick up the biggest power inverters they have (Hopefully you have a full tank of gas in your car) then run your furnace off of the car at night and as you need to during the day. Get a gas heater and use what ever lights you can run off of the inverters too.
I have run my fridge and a small ac using my jeep and a couple of power inverters during a power outage that lasted days.
Good luck friend!
