Weak Stems

Hey guys, so i have a few plans that are about 7 days in the dirt. The stems all seem super weak. They are about to fall over from the slightest movement. Is that normal? Anything i should be doing to beef them up?IMG_20110530_082822.jpg

Alright mate. How far have you got your light from her? also a fan can be used to blow the plant about which promotes strength in the stalk. From the look of the the plant is stretching like mad to reach the light. You want the plant at this stage a maximum of 6 inches from the light for the first week or 2 after that, as the plant gets stronger you can reduce it. Rather than moving your light you can always just bump the plant up using old dvd cases or cds works just as well! Be handy to see your set up?

you can also bury it up to the first set of leaves the round seed leaves without any problems ,just add more soil to the container, and add a fan like was said above:mrgreen:

If your using flourescent get the light within 1 inch of the top of plants, if using other lights put your hand at top of plant, if you can feel the stinging of the heat move it back.

If you just have it in the windowsill, you need to get it to a place of more light, pronto.

You can still save it, but you dont want it to get any stringier.

Take some dirt and fill in to the bottom of the leaves.

Okay so I added more dirt and put a fan on them. Here is my set up. I have 2 48" aquarium/plant Florescent tubes and two soft white florescent bulbs. Is this enough for just 2 plants? Right now i have them about 2.5 inches from the tubes would it be better to put the bulbs directly above each one? Also I ordered some mylar to wrap the whole area should arrive today.

I would get daylight white or 6500k bulbs to reduce the stretch in veg. Get those lights about 2-3 in off the tops and have a fan blow on them (not super hard..they still look fragile)

don't worry too much man, i have almost the exact same setup, and mine are fine. just about to start flowering. Just try and keep the light as close as possible, i adjust mine about once every 2/3 days. the flourescents won't burn them unless they are actually touching the tops. Good luck
