untitled.pngI have never used cfl's, have been a t-5 then hps grower forever. I have noticed where i volunteer here in town(foodshelf of all places) gives these away to folks for free! I have collected close to 23 total i think last count. These of any use to you cfl growers?

What are the lumen/kevlin of those bulbs? Also is that a 75w equivalent bulb or whats the wattage? Can't really tell in the pic but you sure can't complain about free!

sorry about this damn camera! 75 watt replacement bulb at 2700k, 1100 lumens its a 18=75 watt cfl with an estimated energy cost of 2.17 a year lol! I am impressed. How many would it take of the 2700k and the 6000k cfl's to do a decent grow i wonder? I have (seriously) at least 28 of these bulbs stockpiled not realizing they were useful for "other" things !

lol yea they are very useful bulbs. I love vegging with cfls cuz you can get nice tight nodes and keep them super close. It really all depends on how many plants your wanting to grow. Usually a rule of thumb is 100watts per plant you want to grow but I've seen people do it with less and more. No grow is the same for anyone. Everyone has different ways they like to do it. But shit if you have like 28 of them you could do quite a bit because thats 508 actual watts! More than enough to grow you some sweet looking babies. Take a look at my grow and the results with only 260watts. Wish I could get some bulbs for free lol!

I'd imagine them being excellent side or supplemental lighting. Just having 20 of them would add a whopping 20k lumens.
