But you are wrong, you were never always the Ugly Americans.
You were respected, a place people ran to live in search of the dream.

It is now all but a dream, the Dubya fiasco tainted the outlook, BarryO sealed the deal.

I don't think the average American wants this, I dont think they wanted to be stripped of their liberties
and freedoms for nothing.

So Doer, please work with me here as a guy I have come to know who respects and cherishes the rights your fore fathers
fought to give you. The rights you lost for terrorists that this administration is now showing support for.
Come up with your own phrases if you don't mind. :) Just sticking back is a bit low, it seems.

I think you are falling for the Press and trying to tell me we were respected. Just not now. Wrong. When I travel I have Canadian stickers on my luggage. My Laptop has a Go Canada! sticker. But, I started that in the 70s. I'm not looking for trouble and that was before Jihad kicked into high gear. America has never been respected by this element you seem to propose from whom, we want that "respect."

I don't think we do. And being Canadian, of course, you would like to see Bro' Sam looking better. But, in war time (always) don't believe the Press. This President drags the Limp Wing as style. I would hate to play B-ball against him.

Bush used the old country lawyer, can really talk well, as style. But, both these men are the best we had for President. The Will of People and the Press spin.

Press becomes a big fantasy for me. I try to cover all the bases, Left, Right, BBC, Al-J, But I can see it now.....all lies.

Bullshit, prior to 2001 the world thought America was THE shit.

Now it's just shit.

Yep, Canadians are far less annoying and arrogant than Americans.

Except those French-Canadians...
Most of what you say is intelligent, so I don't understand why you often generalize Americans in such a negative way. Surely you realize stereotypes are meaningless? Do you just say the stuff to get a rise out of people? Or do you honestly think a certain geographic location magically makes hundreds of millions of people into fat, arrogant stupid assholes that you can classify without ever meeting?

Lol, Doer, I did it to outline a point, nothing more I assure you. Im often clever enough to use my own material, but at times Im also clever
enough to return using a quote.

Im not falling for press, I reach to many sources to form an opinion based upon a larger picture. I, as an outsider to the US know what we and
many others saw in the US, whether or not it was a lie, it was still far less transparent while the gov fought for "freedom". What we see today is an
administration so offensive they think we are all dumb and don't pay attention.

I was around before jihad was a mainstream issue, I was here before the terrorist lie stripped all of us of our freedom.

I try not to fall into stereotyping as Bombur outlined, Im here stating that I know you as Americans
cherish your freedoms and will fight to keep them. We were all fooled by the big bad terrorist lie, we all lost
our privacy and numerous other rights because of it.

I say what I do out of respect for you as people and what we have all lost, for no reason at all now, as it appears to be.

I mentioned this to you before, we as little people are together in all of this. We will make the difference in the path that lies ahead.
Either we help guide us in a new direction, or we all lose control of our lives and fall into an exact state you as a person Doer
would fight to the death to defend.

This is not an American issue, it is as global as the people who reply to the thread.

I get it. We are just joshing. :)

But, seriously, do you really think respect or lack of that in the public version as defined by our allies tut-tuting our current CinC, here on the global thread, is helping...in the big picture?

Throw some periods in there maybe.

Periods as in menstruation? I hope not ;) Or is this the grammar cop in you? :)
The big picture can be helped if we the big picture guides it instead of allowing the status quo.

We know what is happening is not right, we know we have enemies out to harm us, but who is harming us more?
How are we most effected daily, by the terrorists or those stripping our liberties to fight those terrorists?

It is the crux. Can the tangos take our freedoms with fear, ie Terror, alone.

Well, I don't know. I can't say yet, if that is true, but it is certainly the aim of Jihad, I think.

But, any day to day effect....I don't see it. I can pay taxes and completely ignore the Feds.

I can imagine that plots are busted up, here among the crazy. But, it looks like big plots are busted overseas.

I don't know, but I don't see the erosion of freedom, I see jihad is still after our asses.
