Not so ppfd is what you want, a 1000 watt hid light give off anywhere from 1000 to 1200ish ppfd. The new qb boards are capable of producing 1200 to 1400ish using 600 Watts. I’ll be testing these new qb lights with my par meter when I put these up. Numbers don’t lie.
Watts is a good way to see ppfd or lumens per watt and hence your cost, if one yeilds more for the same wattage from the wall we have a winner.

As to led numbers and ppfd over hps, hps yeilds more but leds are still a good light if you got the money and wont dissapoint. I cannot deny this fact after years of seeing both here and in grows ive been too.

You know I also have a queastion about drying and curing im sure there is a forum for it but its cold where I live and with the heat on in the house it seemed to really dehydrate my buds is there any way to avoid this. I rehydrated them in jars with a couple of fresh plucked leaves from another plant but... how can i slow down the dry a little

Dont cure till you master drying, curing is non essential and properly dried bud smokes just fine. Hang for two weeks away from direc heat and most likely they will be perfect.

Five days seems like you have it in far too hot conditions, mine take longer to be fully dry like neare two weeks. A good test would be jarring them after five days then if they come back a touch damp after a day or two sealed they still had some moisture in. Most houses have a spot that gives you these results for a proper drying.

Listen to this. I have fucked up some beautiful harvests by drying them too fast. Do everything you can to slow the process down a bit. I've found that for me 10 days is the minimum I shoot for for drying. Any faster and you will see a serious decline in the smell and taste of the finished product.

2 days sounds like you have a hairdryer on it, at this point humans would not be that comfortable in that environment.

Buy a humidifier. That will certainly slow it down. But just because the bud feels crispy on the outside doesn't mean it's fully dried. Let it hang dry for a week and then see what you've got.

your goal is to get as high a ppfd over a area . the higher you hang your light the more the light spreads, you need a higher wattage to get the intensity needed the higher you raise your light. thats why the new leds are so efficient, because they can cover the same area as intensely as its HID counterpart. it took a period of time before i was able to grasp this concept in my head, before i used to guesstimate yields in my head not understanding this correlation. cannabis needs space to produce flowers, even in a dialed in grow you can only fit a certain amount of flower into whatever space you have to work with. If you are able to spread 800-1000 ppfd to the corners of your seed breeders reccomended yield space ( ex. 500 g/m^2 in sog ). if you cannot provide that intensity in the corners of that area, you will not yield 500 grams.

you can alter the formula by adding time and some LST to a small extent. Scrog is critical to getting even spacing of your flowers if you intend to push your plants potential of yield. I once tried to grow a monster mainlined plant, i ended up cutting ten small flowers that were touching or too far into the canopy to get any light, once i started to scrog that never happened again, i will maintain all flowers through to finish after day 21 flower
