Those leaves are being submerged under dirt and water when you water... I'd cut them off just so they don't stunt your plant next time you water, it will also cause new foilage to shoot out after its stress is gone.

It just looks like the plant isnt doing as well as it could be. It can generally happen to lower leaves of plants. Make sure your watering with a PH of between 6.2-6.8. I saw that Kevin Murphy said it might be bugs, I don't think it's bugs at all. If anything it could be the PH of the water, I guess I need more details and pictures of the whole plant itself to diagnose it.

i agree with smokebros and an earlier comment. dont remove leaves til they...have fallen off on their own. check the pH.
