watering

I've got cana professional mix soil and i have thoroughly drenched the soil in the pots for a couple of days before planting my germinated seeds, is it possible for these seeds to rot or not grow as a result of the soil being too wet before they are placed inside it? or can you only over water once the seed has been planted?

this might just be me being paranoid but it would be good to know
cheers

How long have the seeds been in the soil? I soaked my soil a day before germinating and then they all sprouted in 2-5 days. Some of them just take some time breaking soil. If you are cautious enough, you may be able to check on the seed by gently scraping off the soil covering the seed. If you see it sprouting, then just cover it back up with the soil and give it a few days.

ah i literally just put them in, but i've managed to screw up a couple of seeds by over watering and under watering so kind of paranoid lol so just wanted to check

Then you shouldn't have a problem. One of mine actually began to pop up after only a day. Just make sure the first few inches of soil stays moist, the room warm, and that you ventilate the space at least for 15-20 minutes everyday to get some circulated air.
