Watering your plants

What is the best way to know how often you need to water your plants? How do you determine when they need to be watered? :bigjoint:

weigh your pit when it is dry at the beginning and keep that weight and then fill the plant with enough water to get the soil wet from top to bottom and weigh that. When your pot gets down close to the dry weight its time to water.

checking the weight might seem confusing now but after a few waterings you will understand....i stick my finger in the soil a few inches in a few spots....if is dry i water....don't let it get too dry tho or youll start fuckin shit up

some strains ask you to keep it really dry between waterings so the plant can suck everything from the soil and reach for more therefore building up her resin glands......

have a chart

I go by weight as well. If it's not possible to lift them at any point, you can also get meters that stick in the soil and measure moisture levels.

ive found that my plants need watered about every 3rd day but as the boys have just said all you do is water ur pot unti you get alittle run off and then lift it up , itll be heavy and u should know when it gets light that it needs water again. if u go too long withoutout watering then the leaves will all droop down and it'll look terrible but a few hours aftera watering then they will usually all perk up and look as good as new

Once they mature,I water till it drains down from the pot.Depends on the strain, but normaly thats when the roots start to grow the fastest.Whatever size your pot is,put that much water in it.You can get fancy & use a scale & moisture meter. But I usualy just pick the pots up everyday after I water & stick my middle finger in the soil.If I feel no moisture halfway up,I water 30-40% of what the pot holds.Or ill water when the pot is about half or less then half the weight of the pot when I first watered. As they get older they will take water faster & need watered more often. And when you need to flush,example:3 gallon pot,you need to pour 9 gallons for a flush.Flushing is,pouring 3 times amount of what the pot holds.
Temps & humidity are also important role with watering.
