Watering with fertilizer

I just want to double check to make sure I won't kill my plant or something, I've used 1 tablespoon of fertilizer per gallon of water. Do the same rules apply when feeding that you water when the soil is dry? Or does it change when your watering with fertilizer?

Yea haha I know it sucks but I can't get anything else at the moment so I have to figure out a way to make this granular work.

The plants don't care what it is, really. Most of that granular stuff is clay so a tablespoon/gallon would be OK. If your not growing in soil (siuless peat mix) you need something with trace elements in it or some organic tea.

I have no idea, I never use granular. Keep uping the amount each time till you see tip burn then cut back. Soil has a lot of nutients already in it, usually.
