Watering questions

Ok... at the risk of sounding like a complete retard.. not too sure if this is a dumb question or not butttt here goes... i was wondering what the best way to deliver water to your plant was... i've been using a typical plastic watering can but it seems very violent on the soil and idk if it will effect my plant negatively the water comes out pretty fast and relatively hard and if i leave it in a single place for more then a second it will drill into the soil.. whats the most effective way to water your plants while not being so fucking brutal on the plant and soil

Just make the spout smaller on the one you have with a bit of tape, tack etc. It's better than a smaller can.

i hear you. i know what you mean - a watering can with a large mouth fuckin dumps water everywhere and can look like it's going to flatten your plant. i've actually knocked plants clean over by watering too hard.
the solution is just to get a watering can with a smaller opening. that way you have more time to pour the water, and it gets absorbed quicker since its not all just sitting on top and draining out little rivers as fast as it can.
if you don't have another watering can just find a bottle or something with a smaller mouth and use that to get the soil nice and evenly wet. hope that helps.

Well yes and no the problem I ran into is I'm running 6 /5 gallon smart pots and each plant I give roughly 1 gallon of water too (not sure if that's too much or not) but to put a gallon of water say by using a squirt bottle is insanely time consuming I usually fill up a 5 gallon poland springs bottle with my nutes then after there mixed pour from there into the watering can and off I go

1st dont even use that big water thingamagig, I use gallon jugs to mix my nutes, then I pour into smaller bottles I just use a rule of thumb, if the top is dry down to about 2 inches and the pot is light when picked up and the plant looks fine, then I water, I do not let 10 pecent flow out cause I dont want the pot sitting in water, and I check daily sometimes more then once.

These are my tall bubbleberry I thought was a boy, cyan kush (og x blueberry my breed) untopped, master kush clone I took special care it was stunted when I got it, purple seedling, topped cyan kush with clones and seedlings in the backround, and my grow out of my sugar haze x blueberry, told It was like ganga of 15 years ago great!.

So my watering seems to be ok by just checking to see how they are drinking. Each plant is different so a general schedule just might not work.
