Normally I would agree, that's the way I do it. But if his plants like his current method why change things up?
Because those pots look stupid big and watering every four days has always been better - Theres room for improvement, couple of his plants look nice :-)

I water when I see a little droopyness
I wouldn't wait till they droop personally, but I'm keeping my soil alive so I don't let it dry out. You have a decent organic soil now. What do you plan to use for nutes? If you're gonna do the organic thing I would grab a bag of EWC along with whatever organic nutes you choose. If you want to use chemicals there's nothing wrong with that, but your soil will last a lot longer keeping it organic. I would hate to have to buy more. I have about 200 gallons of it now, so that would not be fun.

Well, I don't think 3 gallon pots are stupid big, but to each their own. Like I said, I agree that watering by weight is better, unless he changes to that and starts fucking up.

Not too big at all. I grow in 15's, but also a couple 3's since I can only fit 2 15's and 2 3's in my 2x4 veg tent. I have a 4x4 sitting here that I will add instead, but I'm gonna have less walking space in my bedroom when I do so I've been putting it off. I also just pop clone cuts straight in those pots. Here's a Green Crack cut I threw in a 15 about 7 weeks ago. I know a lot of people like to transplant more, but not me. It only looks like they grow slower starting in bigger pots at first, since they are focusing on growing roots since they have the room. Then they take off.
