watering on vacation

I am growing one plant in my closet and I realize I might be gone for a couple weeks at a time and will not be able to water my plant. I was wondering if there is a best way to set up a timer and a pump to water or if there was another way. I have a timer for my lights and I am growing in soil.

I am using something similar at the moment.

I've got an outdoor grow happening at the moment and am using 'water spikes' that bottles are attached to. The spikes are full with fine sand to reduce water flow.... Looks like those just use wicking to draw the water from the bowl..

I also use water crystals mixed into the soil to help the water stay around for longer as I can only get to my plants once a week....

I'm a first time grower but seems to be working fine for me!

the wick method always works for me...
