would putting a bit of rooting hormones(that you'd use to clone) in the water you water, your plant with, make the roots that are already there, stronger? or would it do nothing?

Common rooting stimulaters are available for this that contain Indole-3-butyric acid. I do know that ingredient is one of the main ingredients in rooting hormones as well, but for the price of rooting hormones compared to rooting stimulaters I go with rooting stimulator. I personally use Green Light Root Stimulator and Starter solution 5-20-10 it has .0004 of this rooting hormone as well as the listed nutrients.

I use SuperThrive as an additive for most of the growing cycle. Just a drop a gallon, to any nutrient, aids growth. I use 10-20 drops/gallon for adding to rooting solution.

SuperThrive is not a nutrient. It's best described as an elixir. It's got vitamins and hormones, auxins and keratins. and all kinds of good stuff. For rooting, it's got Vitamin B1.
