Watering 3 week seedling while on holidays for 4 weeks ... is it possible ?

Hello all,
I have a very nice looking 2 week seedling but I am leaving in 10 days for 4 weeks holidays...
I live in Athens and grow currently in my big balcony in a 4 lt pot (22cm in diameter and 22 cm in height) which should hopefully be ok until I come back.
The big problem is watering...
I could take it with me on holiday but it is a bit risky.

I am thinking to install an auto watering system with one drip head 5 cm from the center dripping a small amount of water say x lt
and 4 drip heads 10 cm away from the centre all around the edge of the pot dripping 5 times as much water (5x lt).

I must say I am not experienced canna grower , I have done it only once two years ago but I was home all the time.

Do you think it will work ?
Do you have any suggestions to make ?

Thanks in advance.

all i can say is good luck. Once got sick and watered my seedling too much thinking it will not need watering till i get better. Ended up with extremely stunted plant yielding 1 nug.

Put it in a bigger pot and drench it, the new soil won’t have any roots yet so will take longer to dry up the areas it’s drinking from, my theory anyway and maybe a simple drip system that I can’t be bothered thinking about lol. Good luck!

If it’s not a autoflower that’s would probs work fine, delay it drinking all the water, it will get better when he’s back to normal watering. Could work

If you cover up the top of the pot with a sheet of paper, a slit to have the paper go around the stem, it would reduce the evaporation of the soil. The plant drinking from the soil probably will not suck all the water out. I can see it working for two or three weeks, four might be a stretch. Just throwing it out as something to think about, maybe a combination of things will get you there.

I am going to do what I explained in my original post about auto watering every early morning with 4 drip heads + a cloth mesh allowing only 70% of the sun to reach her + some sort of insulation outside the pot to protect it from a probable day average 35 C (but night avg hopefully below 25 C).

More comments welcomed.

You can try water gel crystals and mix them into your soil, the crystal will retain the water and slowly release it back..
