im on my 6th week of my first grow... and one thing i looked over is the amount of water my plants would use... i started with 12 gallons every 2 weeks and now that has changed to 30 gallons... my question is, how bad would it be to use tap water over distilled... with tap i could just fill my tanks from my sink

tahts all i use i ph with my nutes but when i just go to water them strait from the tap.ya its just a tad high in ph but it hasn't hurn my grow at all. just ph your tap water.:hump:

this water is for my hydro tank so it constantly recycles through the plants.... so if i just adjust the tap water ill be ok?

It would all depend on your tap water. Is it fairly clean or is it undrinkable? I've heard some here that have tap water that I wouldn't even bathe in. Check the PPM of your tap water. If its below 200ppm, it might be ok and if its slightly above 200ppm, GH makes a hard water nute additive.
