Rubbish.. I've never done a water analysis but Id be surprised if there wasn't trace amounts of sodium and Chloride in Chicago tap water.. And we have very clean water .. As far as the rest of the country.

Actually yes I’m doing organic so there is no reason to have any run off. Also I believe 10% is the most common number I’ve heard people using.

I’m not talking trace.
The water where I was was very clean too. Here not so much. Your advice is quite location-dependent.
Also, even with my clean water, a good rinse every 6 weeks kept my margins green.

Ok so you admit there should be run off! That's all I was Implying and I may have exaggerated a little but I was trying to show carrying water is a bitch! So if u want to debate the 50% number ok I'm not right on that but the implementation was u need runoff!

I bottom feed-water.. The plant wicks up what it needs from the trays... There is no runoff. If the plant doesn't absorb all the liquid in 20 minutes then the tray is dumped into the sink.

Of course you do. I don't know where people get these percentages on runoff but I just water until I get water running out the bottom

The thing is I've read about 10 textbook size books on growing cannabis and definitely know all the textbook answers and google answers there is to know but I wanna see what people on here say because I like to hear what multiple experienced growers have to say rather than a book!
