:leaf:HI Ive been thinking about how to treat water so that its clean from any chlorine and also low ph and if anybody knows about this ...is it safe to use the powder u get to treat swimming pool water so that its pure fresh water???? anybody tried this??? if so plz let me know if its ok to use and a cheap way to treat ur plant water:leaf:i dont want to be adding powder to my plant water then it goes and kills them lol:wall:

The easisest and cheapest way to eliminate chlorine is a large rubbermaid container, an airstone and a small aquarium pump... just let the waterstand for 24 to 36 hours with the airstone bubbling away will solve the chlorine probs

For the long term, a reverse osmosis system is really the way to go. Do you have a water quality report for your area? Do you have chloramine in your water supply?

Sorry, I don't know anything about the powder, but I just let my rubbermaid res sit with the lid cracked inbetween waterings (2-3 days or so) to let the chlorine evap from the tap water. It will be fine.
I'm sure you need no reminding, but always ec and ph especially with tap water!

im using tap water and the only way to find out whats in the tap water around this area is to go to the water company and ask...ive used a testing strip and its come up with results of ph 8.0 which is very high and chlorine result is near to nothing.....i think if im going to use tap water im going to have to mess around with it to get it right so i think its best if i just use bottled fresh water from a shop that way theres no chlorine at all and low ph so its allready done to feed the plant.....my plants are in pots and im feeding them by spraying the soil.......not really into bubble boxes as knowing me when im stoned ill mix the water with electricity lmao

iam dead set to water my garden with only rain water. so far i have been lucky,after each rain i refill about 5 1gal jugs.one is to mix with and 4 back up. so far all is well. they last 3 weeks. this is first grow. put seeds in dirt NOV> 3rd now into flowering 3weeks. cfls 300wt 2ft x2ft closet 5ft tall. lower space set to veg. 2nd grow. seeds bro got in florida .one day i might mail order seeds. but this way gives me skills for better on 3rd grow.that one i pland to push it to be the best of the best. all set your golds in real time, this way you have time to stop and think, about next move!

have u tested ph in your soil etc? i can only test my water with strips i cant test the soil for ph cos i havent got a ph soil tester but the growth is good so far as u can see in my album

using rain water could benefit your plant but theres also downfalls with rain water as it could contain bugs

do u think my grow is a good grow concidering ive used tap water without treating it and only used 5 cfls.?

From what I've heard, go the reverse osmosis route. It may be expensive, but it will make your water perfect. It's like bagels. The better the water, the better the bagel.

yes you might be right. i try to fill up before the water has time to set. water is damm cold and is clear.i heat it up to and let stand till i can put hand in the water. but summer rain i will need to boil ,spring rain water i will for sure test with,don't know what is in it.

ro dosen't make your water perfect. It removes just about everything. you have to add everything needed back to it. you can water with just about any tap water by letting it sit. Us indoor growers try to dial in everything we can so thats when you start building your own water.

im doing fine with tap water thats left for about a day n half but still think i should get a ph tester lol

good idea to get a tester. I have a few. also a ppm meter is good to have. My water runs a ph of 7-8 and ppm's range from 200-270. even after adding nutes the ph never goes over 8. I add 3 caps of lemon juice and that brings my ph down to high 5's low 6's
