Water pump Q's!

So I was going to make the Diy DWC system (https://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/18301-diy-dwc-cannabis-growing.html). I was thinking of putting a water pump in though, and I was going to have hoses running into the baskets so the nutrient solution gets pumped directly to the roots. I was also thinking of going with 1 or 2 4in bubble disk(s) instead of the air stones. This is similar to the Stealth Hydro system. My question is if I get the 240gph compared to the 185gph pump will that pump the water to fast, and possible damage roots?

These are the pumps. (The 185 is right below the 240)

Edit: I was also thinking this air ionizer would help circulate air nicely (along with other fans) and keep the room cool. But would this be healthy for the plant? This would allow me to get a higher watt HPS/MH setup.

I think you are referring to a bubbleponics system where water is transferred into a hub that air-rates water/nute solution then pumps to roots- in a dwc system The bubble stones make air in solution then pop at top of water surface and mist roots/medium. If you pump straight solution to root balls it will drown them. So you need to decide weather you want to go dwc or bubbleponics. Also depending on tub size you want at least a few air stones. I personally dont think the disks put out as much as the fish tank bubble curtins, plus they have sucktion cups on bottom. Hope this helps some unanswered questions.

You could also consider a top feed drip system. Check out Roseman's bubbleponics thread if that's what you'd like to try. Disks are nice because they are weighted and do not require suction cups (which are known for failing).

Aeroking is right-I had problems with suction cups untill I learned dry bottom before sticking then they work fine after that for me.
