water level in bubbler

This is my first grow, and Im growing one plant in a 4.5 gal. bucket system. The roots just began showing through the bottom of the net pot and I was wondering if I should keep the water level slightly below the roots, so that the bubbles mist the roots, or keep the roots fully submerged with the bubbles giving the roots oxygen? I've done research and i've heard both! Thanks!

You make sure the bottoms of the roots are submerged in the water. You should have an air pump hooked up to an air stone in your reservoir which delivers plenty of O2 to your roots.

I think the question is it ok to have your water level right up to the bottom of the net pots, or must you have a space in between the water level and the bottom of the net pot to let some of the roots be exposed to just the air.

I really need to know this too, cuz my res is totally filled with roots cuz its too small and I want to raise the water level to make sure they have more room for roots to expand but I am afraid to do it cuz Im not sure if you can have all the roots toatlly submerged without a gap as decribed above.

If NGT or PotRoast or Russor or anyone with this knowledge can enlighted I would appreiciate greatly,

thanks

I don't think it matters IF you are giving your plants enough oxygen through the water. I believe the more air bubbles, the better.
