Water issue

When I water them .. They are really quick to drain instantly with runoff and some soak it up and don't drain nearly as quick .. Why's that?

Could it be cause of low humidity

Guess would be either the soil wasn't mixed well or is inconsistent in how densely it is packed.

Try watering the fast draining plants very slowly and see if it helps. You could water and then leave some water to bottom feed a few hours (I would think). That way they ought to suck up whatever is possible.

try tilling the soil. if it's all compacted, use a couple tooth-pics or something to break up the soil and loosen it up.
