Water enough so it flows through bottom of pot?

How many of you water your plants so much that it comes out the bottom of the pots? I'm using 75% pro-mix and 25% perlite and have never seen water come all the way through my 6" pots. I'm going into flowering starting today. I have been watering them with about 200-250ml every 3-4 days. Should I be watering them more so that water comes through the holes in the bottom of the pots?

Each grow medium Is going to have slightly different drainage rates due to the texture and makeup of your soil. For example, a plant grown in a coco/perlite mix is more forgiving when it comes to overwatering than a regular potting soil/perlite mix. This is because coco/perlite doesn't retain water as well as soil does and most of it heads to the overflow tray. So in a soil mix a good indicator to go by is touch, If the top inch or two of soil is dry it should be fine to water and if not, just let her grow. Its frighteningly easy to overwater plants so be patient and water only when it seems neccesary.

In order for the roots to thrive they need oxygen as well as water, so I try to let my mix dry a reasonable amount between waterings. Of course, you could replace less frequent waterings with smaller more frequent ones and you can still use the touch method because if the plant is thirsty, its gonna drink.

hope that was mildly helpful.

I water mine slowly till I get just a little bit of drainage. I'll water it again when the pot feels empty when i pick it up, maybe a day later. Too much water drowns the roots so u gotta let em breath too.
