Water Consumption by Plants

I am putting together a greenhouse grow plan and I am having lots of trouble solving my water problems. I am hoping there are some people here with the answers!

Due to state laws, I cannot use well water unless I have water rights, so I will only be using rainwater until I can get those rights.

Due to this I will be limited to about 450 gallons of water per day during the summer. I might purchase more water but I just want to get a grasp on how this will work.

My questions are:

A) What size plants would be most efficient in a Water Use / Flower Weight ratio?

B) I often see 1 gallon of water/ per day/ per pound of flower. Is this equation good for both Sea of Green and larger plants?

C) How many plants do you think 450 gallons a day would support in a Sea of Green setup with drip irrigation?

(My thought on the 1 Gallon/#/1 Day formula would be 4,114 plants. I am using an assumption of 1.75 ounce per plant, with one plant per square foot vegged to one foot. 450*16=7200. 7200/1.75=4,114)

D) If you were designing a greenhouse setup with supplemental lighting would you do Sea of Green garden or would you go for the larger plants?

(My square footage is limited but the height of plants is not.)

You'll have a much better chance of getting answers to your questions posting this in the outdoor growing forum. Theres some good threads regarding green houses. One in particular, I can't remember the guys name but the thread is called so&so's outdoor adventure. It's a long read but worth the time.

A. it depends on your garden design and plumbing layout, along with Veg time.

B. it depends on your garden design and plumbing layout, along with Veg time.

C. it depends on your garden design and plumbing layout, along with Veg time.

D. Big plants, as I do things legal in my state.

With the right setup, 450gal can more than likely handle what you want to do.

With what your doing TBH, I don't think there is an answer: its something you going to have to find out, in discovery.
