Hard to say without any specs of the chiller, but considering your system is only 30 gal, it might work.

the first company that comes up with a small affordable chilling rod that can be chucked in rez is going to slay it! (profits)

What specs should I be looking for? This type of chiller is used inside drinking fountains. Chills the water til its ready to be dispensed,
since I'm going to be recirculating the same water its cooling. I think it might work.
I was just hoping someone would say "im using one of those, they work great!"

Ill be the guinea pig

Fitting for use with a pump will be easy enough, but you'll need to adapt a new thermostat to it. At nearly 1/3HP, it's going too chill quite fast on only 30 gallons.

It really depends on insulation and requirements. Some people use window unit AC's or dehumidifiers but they are all way overkill and expensive to operate.

I nearly got myself a 1/15HP used aquarium chiller for 200 bucks, but it was sold by the time I got there. I ended up with a 50W regulated iceprobe chiller and heavily insulated buckets.

Yes it will work. most bait shops take apart an ac unit and stick the cooling coil in the water to bring it down also.if you got a used window ac take it apart measure how long you need to extend it and have an ac guy expand it and fill it for you with coolant. then take it to your grow and stick the coil into water and bam you can make water what ever temp you want.

Again, it will not work like this.
And for the price having an a/c guy fix and fill up your broken a/c you could just buy a real chiller.
But none of that even matters because this will kill all the plants.
I just got a small chiller for $260 free shipping, perfectly accurate, and wont react with the nutes and kill the plants.

I'm a big fan of the Ice Probe. less than 200 shipped, with a regulator. Draws almost no power and works great with well insulated setups.
