Watching YouTube Videos on Marijuana Cultivation. Safe or unsafe?

I understand a proxy would be best to do this with, but if for some reason you were unable to use one, would searching for and watching YouTube videos on growing Cannabis raise any suspicion with the DEA at all if Cannabis is illegal in your state?

I get that hundreds of thousands of people watch these daily, but if you have a grow operation, or are wanting to start a grow operation where herb is illegal, could it be enough for the DEA to take notice and maybe keep an eye on your activity if you frequent such videos?

I have gotten most of my information through text files, such as pdfs, e-books, etc, up until now and am just starting to take more of an interest in video tutorials and lectures.

Some of those clip have hundreds of thousands of views so I doubt DEA is able to keep up. If you're that worried about the DEA use you work computer! lol

I just couldn't imagine it difficult to track an IP that routinely watches cannabis horticulture videos then sending out a local LEA to check things out. It's not out of the realm of possibility for many a cannabis grower to be found growing due to their internet activity, or at least have a watchful eye placed on them. Think a terrorist Googling bomb and plane schematics and getting caught because his IP was logged, maybe a bit extreme, but growing marijuana in some states is seen almost as bad.

Paranoid maybe, but I'm also safe and meticulous.

I don't think I quite understand your edit.

This thread was not elsewhere (that I am aware of), and the only thread from you I saw was one about the safety of ordering seeds, which is easily done via a prepaid Wal-Mart card, setting your proxy to that of a California IP, and having it sent to a house a few miles away that has been on the market for a while. (scout it out first and use overnight shipping)

Easy cake. Your IP isn't logged, the card isn't registered to any name, and your house isn't the forwarding address. Also a Cali IP will dismiss most LEAs from even looking into it.

Know your stuff before you attempt to insult me (not that I even really understand the insult...)

Walk a few miles to a house to get the seeds you had sent to it, so it isn't being sent to where you are growing. Can you read? I never assumed anything.

Now think rationally here. How hard would it be for YouTube to see you watching these videos, seeing the repetition, and seeing you are not from a state where it is legal, then just forward this information with your IP to the local police? Many companies like this work together with police to catch offenders.

As far as RIU goes, I use Tor for my cannabis informational needs here, so it couldn't be linked to me in the event it came up.

PS i never heard before that parents allowed that their 14 yr old children grown marijuana at their home BUT WHO KNOWS MAYBE YOU WILL BE THE FIRST
