i was reading in a thread by northwoodsman and he posted a pic
of a rare pheno type that makes the plant look uniform in color
any one heard of this or know where i can get seeds?

phenotype:
A phenotype is any observable characteristic or trait of an organism: such as its morphology, development, biochemical or physiological properties, or behavior. Phenotypes result from the expression of an organism's genes as well as the influence of environmental factors and possible interactions between the two.

Yes if you grew out 100 plants you will get a few that express their pheno different from the others

Let's say you breed 2 plants, and Let's say the female plant has stocky India traits, and the male father was from haze stock (more sativa).

Well if you grew out a batch of seeds it's likely you'd see many different "phenotypes"

And let's say one plant in particular could be set apart from the rest because it had a skunky haze smell, but was stocky like an indica. This could be considered a short "pheno", with haze qualities (smell)

Or one plant out of many may have much bigger buds than the others. That would be a phenotype worth taking note of, and cloning, or breeding.

Selecting and setting apart certain phenotypes is how many strains have come into being.

The pheno could actually be different from both parents, but that's less likely.

Wikipedia explains it pretty well.

genotype + environment → phenotype

genotype + environment + random-variation → phenotype

never posted on any threads about phenos
saw one 2day thought id ask the question lol
just wanted 2 know i joined this site in july and i know i kinda over did it with the 1800+ posts
i just wana learn as much as possible for this years current grow and next years planned grow also 2 chat with sum stoners about funny shit

Its cool ,I was the same way..Im just looking at threads and ran across this one.

just in case you haven't got it yet. phenos are just a subset of the strain in a way, a way of grouping possible outcomes of a strain.

I orderd seeds ...the same breed or strain of seeds from the same package grew 2 diferent types of plants when flowered and in veg.....1 shot up in flower and the other remained short and bushy....the taller plant is a sativa pheno and the shorter in a indica pheno...... just means what charactoristics the plant is displaying during its growth
