Yes, regularly with my clothes as already stated. Then hang dry.
I let the pots dry out & then scrape off as much root mass & debris as I can with a sponge scourer. Once done I throw them in the washing machine. Normally a couple of times. Doesn't get them spotless but gets them to a point where I can reuse them.
I've heard of people soaking them in enzyme for a few days to soften up the root mass. Not tried as I'm limited on space but those are the most commonly used cleaning methods.

I don't wash mine unless I've had an issue with the previous grow.

I definitely wouldn't wash them where I wash my clothes. Just hose them out. Turn them inside out and repeat.

Better drainage??? Good luck with the plastic pots.
Better drainage for sure always have to great with plastic pots. Tried the smart pots and I'm just not a fan. Especially during flush

If you have flushed for 30 years, think of all the water that you wasted. Your own confirmation bias will always make you believe that you can tell a difference between flushed and non flushed. Name any other crop that is "flushed". If you think that it eliminates the " NPK"s, then you might have grown for thirty years but have never studied any horticultural science. If you choose to flush, that is your choice, but maybe you should define what flushing means to you. Good luck and best wishes.
