Washing buds

Gang - do I need to wash my buds when harvesting an outdoor grow? This is my first outdoors and 3rd altogether and before today I didn't even know washing buds was a thing. I thought the idea was to try and keep the water off them?

Depends on how dirty they get.

I would recommend doing a bud wash with outdoor plants at chop time.
You can use a microscope to check the buds out if you’re skeptical. Dead bugs, bug feces, hair, etc can get lodged into your buds when tightening up while they dry.
