Was thinking about buying an LED light

Hi RIU,

I was thinking about buying an LED light for my indoor op. Anybody have any experience growing with LEDs? Pros / Cons? I noticed there is no form on LEDs here..

thats probably because they're weak and not a reliable source of light... the only light that's mainly used for cars that would work for growing are HIDs... they even come with a ballast! lol

L.E.D. lights are hot, so you can't put them close to the plant. I would go with CFL lights if you on a bugdet, they can be placed much closer to the plant, and are often cheaper and more powerful.

led lights actually produce almost zero heat, less than cfls, and can be many times more powerful than clfs

Wow do I feel stupid, I was under the impression L.E.D. lights were simple incandescent when i made that post, after some googling I have realized my mistake.

I still stand by not buying l.e.d. lights though, as from what i have seen they are simply not as effective as other lights.

leds make almost no heat. but they dont grow plants ether. dont wast your $$.fir the same price of a led thing you can get in to a really nice hps and some of the fans you will want.
