thats great w / a class A cdl you will always be able to find work.But you are held to a higher standing and give up some rights as a cdl holder

well, as i understand it you are essentially under the mans thumb having a cdl.
Get in a wreck be it on the job or on your own time. Submit to a drug screen.
Get speeding tickets...pay heavier fines and possibly lose your license.
Ppl. w/cdl's are held to a higher standard. Not necessarily a bad thing. I don't want a bunch of fucked up truckers on the roads.
But it is precisely why I would never have my cdl. I don't need more gov't restrictions in my life...especially for a paycheck. FUCK THAT!
On the other hand I have a buddy who is an otr driver in the lower 48 and he loves it. Makes killer money and does very well for himself and his family....although he only gets to see them on weekends most times.

I retired from govt work & moved back up here in 2000.
If you're interested in a fishing job PM me - the right boat can bring in 120k to a good deck hand.
Not something I'd recommend doing for life, but for a strong young man with drive (and the willpower to save cash) it could really get a guy started well.

no doubt on the fishing.However 99% of Captains are crooks and will screw the new guys outta their money.They sit up at night trying ti figure out a new way to fuck you every day.My neighbor is 15,he made almost 100,000 this SUMMER.
The biggest bs of CDL is .04 DUI and the cops can search anything you are driving,even if it isn't a heavy truck

construction,heavy equipment operator.I install sewar and waterlines mostly.Since I can't ever pass a drug test I end up working for shitty employers with low pay.A construction laborer needs a CDL to get considered for a job here.Even if you won't be near a truck.Its BS
There are some bad ones out there but usually everybody knows it so they end up with the dregs when it comes to crew.
I know quite a few that keep the same crew for years which really says something.
Really hard work with little sleep but damn, that money just pours in.
Here's another cool reason to live here.

If ultimately approved, Alaska would become the third state to legalize marijuana, following voter initiatives last year in Colorado and Washington state.
Organizers only need about 30,000 signatures to get the issue before voters but wanted to submit more than that to cover any challenges.
State officials have 60 days to verify there are enough valid signatures to qualify for the ballot.
