If you top they can run into problems, tie top down far enough to be below main stem, this will cause hormone in tip to drain away and disperse through all secondaries, plant will bush out and not stunt growth, if they stunt you will get very little off of them. I only LST autoflowers. As it grows continue tieing top over until you have a bush. Hope this is helpful. This is the best way to get most out of autos.

They can get pretty big this way. Hope you get to experience that for yourself. I just smoked auto that I didn't lst it was 10 inches tall at harvest, lol. I did get about 40 or so grams dry off of it. Rock hard nuts. I was impressed. You can clone autos, don't listen to hype that you can't. I chop off bottom branches just as they start to flower, and they can be pretty good.

With my experience, if you cut it.. it stunts a few days.. I would not wait til 3 weeks into veg. What if the clock is set for that strain to initiate flower in week 3? You can end up flowering right after recovery, and be stuck with only the branches left & no main cola (Well.. a new main cola... but it will be punished by the cut.) I did cut at 3 weeks myself, but I got lucky. The plant went 4 1/2 weeks before it began to flower. almost 8oz between the clones, and the mother. 1 seed :bigjoint:

Nice , something is bettering than nothing lol And yeah I was wanting to clone but how does that work. When you clone and its rooted does it start where it left off when you clipped it or does it revert to veg for a bit?

Okay yeah that makes sense. I see how it could harm your yield if it's a faster auto, thanks for your positive input, and that's badass and you ran clones as well off the auto?

This is the mother when I cut her on 11/1/20

Here's the mother right before chop on 1/13/21 IMG_7968.JPG

I don't think it hurt her at all. Look how fat the nugs on the main cola are? They didn't grow into a long traditional cola due to super-cropping.
Chunky and heavy.. just that piece alone. (Didn't weigh wet.. just sayin)

Not topping autos used to be a no-no but not any more. The following thread (and my own experience) confirms that.

Here's an easy feed schedule for autos.

If you're serious about growing autos, you should really join the AFN as a lot of people here on RiU pass on some bad info on autos.

Good luck!

I hope you aren't insinuating my advice was bad. Most new growers can barely get to harvest never mind implement HST like topping.

It can all be done if you are a competent grower, which most new cannabis growers are not yet.

Autos have changed so much over the years I've grown'em.....now a totally different animal....the once hide-away plant is more like a fast photo with varying capabilities...what once was a no-no, you let a bunch of stoners get hold of it, ya get where we're at....

Yeah I've grown photos I have several harvest already , I generally don't ever struggle with any deficiencys or anything really , my plants tend to be healthy growing is pretty easy. Rn I'm making some feminized seeds and wanted to try some autos since I've never grew any and I like knowing what I'm doing when trying
something new.

I see you I'm going to run 2 Pluto's cut from ethos one I'll top and clone and the other just hst all of yall plants look awesome .
Nice, I didn't know Ethos had autos. Great genetics you should have an awesome plant.

Overall I treat my autos like photos. Transplant, defoliate, LST, supercropping if needed etc. As long as you have a healthy plant they'll be fine.

The only difference is autos flower based on genetics not light schedule.
