Great ingenuity ! Those wardrobe boxes are rather sturdy, I have experience with them from moving. This would be a wonderful idea for someone on a very limited budget to get started. I am however not too keen on the heat factor using cardboard so using the CFL's would be the best idea as you have. I would not put a 400-600 watt MH/HPS in there !

Yea man I had my reservations with tents but thats definatley a good Idea
Recently I dusted off my old cabinet and started testing temps/humidity. My temps were out of line so off to the hardware I went for some larger 8" vents, then it occurred to me there has to be a better way. IMO if your building it purely for stealth so no one knows what it is then build a box that conceals it, but if you have the space the tent is a no-brainer.

Good luck, im off to see the wizard... motherfucker owes me money.... lol

You can get the stuff for under 100$ easily, even build it 4x4x6½ for under 100$. Don't get me wrong buying a tent isn't a bad idea, but if your building something you'll pretty much be able to say "yeah I built that shit," and you'll have a greater understanding of how making that stuff works. Sooner or later you'll be able to design your own 10x10x6½ with split rooms for veg/flower and you'll feel so fucking good about it, then you'll have your plants inside to top it off. Imo building things is really fun, if you pay someone to mow your lawn I could see why you don't wanna build it.

I wouldn't buy a tent because the demonsions I need are running more expensive then buying whatever supplies I need to build it. I also like that fact that I can insulate it, which is mainly what attached me to building it myself then a cheap ass little tent. Do the zippers ever get stuck on those?
Even if you diddn't insulate it the wood will help temperatures better then plastic(although plastic does reflect).
