CFLS ARE THE SHIT, I have a foot of growth after 2 weeks :) cheers

HOLY CRAP MAN! I've got a total of 8 CFLs on my foot tall plant now (aprox. 9600 lumens). Shes only grown like an inch and a half, but she is getting alot thicker and is flowering at 12 spots.

Congrats!:peace:

Hmmmm......How many should I use for two plants? They are both about 12" tall right now and I just dropped them down to 12/12. I cant afford the expensive lighting right now and this is my first grow.

I have them in a box painted flat white right now as a stealth closet grow, if that makes any difference.

BTW: I love your avatar......Do you have a high res. version?:hump:

I have pics in my grow journal of a cheap and inexpensive wal*mart setup. I originally used like 2 24 watt cfls I think, then switched to 2 42 watt cfls +
2 of the grow light tubes (totaled only around 30 bucks with the 2 light
fixtures from home depot that I spliced into).

Worked great for vegging. Actually it was the bomb for vegging.. just look at em. Then put them under HPS for the last week of veg and then to flowering. In flowering I also am using the grow light tubes (75 true watt out for each) in addition to my 250 watt hps for my three plants. Seems
adequite..

you can get the light reflectors at Lowes for 7 - $10 depending on size. The cfls are bought seperately.

Clamp lamps at wally world here run $6-$7 for the least expensive ones, up to 20. they're in the hardware section, not the lighting section.

10000 lumens are needed for dense buds in the flowering period , try extending your flower period and addin as many flouresent bulbs as you can purchase. or better yet get some cfl . youll be all right

One warning about the clamp lamps, the clamps SEEM very strong, but they're not necessarily strong enough to hold up a 42w CFL, or even a 23w. i built a rack for mine with two crossbars, the clamps are set on the lower bar, and i've got a wire running from the neck of the clamp to the upper bar, this keeps the lamps from falling on your plants.
