Soon I will be moving into a townhome with a nice size walk in closet. I have done quite a bit of reserch on the grow room area but I have a question. How if there is a way can I cover the smell up and prevent it from leaking all over the upper floor and is it possible to maybe move the plants need b without harming them? Thanks

All of the information you are seeking is here for you to discover. No one is going to sit down and write you instructions. Feel free to browse the forums for ideas or use the search feature. If you have a specific question that isn't answered in one of the stickies, I'm sure someone will be happy to help you.

Please don't take this as a flame, it is not intended to be one. It is just that I tire of posts like this one asking to be fed when all you have to do is look for yourself. There is plenty of good information here.

Happy growing.

Thanks no your right and now Im more specific. Im mainly concerned with knowing whether or not I can prevent the smell from leaking before I get started. And also If I needed to can I move them if I need to.

I don't mind helping you, otherwise what the fuck is the point of a forum...

There are several options you have: carbon filter, ona-gel products, less smelly plant strain matters a lot by the way, and certain dispersants that contain odor neutralizer that you have to refill. If you're going to use the whole closet and plan on growing more than 3 plants you will most likely get a combo of products cause one may not do it all. If you have an exhaust fan (or are you just going to leave the door open?) you should make a carbon filter yourself and attach it to your exhaust. But for a closet it probably needs a 4" or 6" inline fan to be really effective. Ona-gel products "kill" the odor using chemicals, it's used for industrial or commercial businesses that really have smelly offices (sewage plants) and I've heard poking a few holes in a bottle and keeping it in the room will work inside the room to kill odors. You have several options but I'd recommend more than one.

CARBON FILTRATION is the only 100% smell proof way. And I wouldn't risk moving those plants once you've started flowering you gotta make sure your not gonna be interupted.

So it's not possible to move the plant very quickly I mean it would be no longer than 15 minutes to have all of the conditions set back up. I appreciate all of the help. Also it would be no more than 3 plants so odour is something I think I would be able to control.

I'm in a similar situation so I've been lurking the forums a bit. I have a nice size walk-in closet/condo operation about to start but I've used the majority of my funds on premium equipment and grow mediums/nutes. I don't like the idea of having a noisey inline fan/carbon scrubber going 24/7 in my closet so I have opted for the ONA bucket filter method. Search the forums or google DIY ONA bucket. You can probably build 3 of them for $100 or less. Have one just outside your grow closet and station them in areas of your home that you want smelling fresh. I'm also going to add a small Ona block in the grow room itself (don't want an ONA bucket in there as the ONA is so potent that your prized plants may take on the smell during flower.

SO I'll be using 3 ONA buckets and an ONA block for a 6-8 plant operation and I highly doubt I will need the scrubber (I'm not concerned about some smell, just don't want the folks in the condo next door getting blown on there ass by dank when they enter the hallway of the Condo =)

Good Luck!
