TEST YOUR KNOWLEDGE MANY OLD SCHOOL GROWERS CAN NOT ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS

Ok 2 weeks ago i started my flush right i had some brown hairs on my lady's.
Now the plants hairs are white again haha What the fuck?? :cuss:

And right where the stigmas come out of the calyx THERES NOW LEAVES GROWING RIGHT NEXT TO THE HAIRS:!:

I dson't know it's probably just the variety. I had some bagseeds that just woulodn't ripen they just wanted to grow. Look at DJ shorts flo it will harvest mature buds bud still grow new ones and mature unevenly.

That likely means they weren't quite finished yet. Have you checked the trichs? Also, my plants always go through a growth spurt after i flush, which is why i started doing it twice, once after the 'bloom stretch', and once at the end. I swear it helps alot, and plan to keep right on doing it. :)

Rekin i should give em some nutes for bit longer untill the hairs start turning brown again.

Its weird the hairs went brown like they were ripe and then turned white again. :-?
:confused:WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE LEAVES SPROUTING FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE CALYX OR (SEED BRACH) SOME WOULD CALL IT.

I flush constantly during the whole flower period, how do you think I got 4 oz's (wet, oz and 1/2 dry) with 97 watts of light off a 21 inch tall plant

If you keep it green you can do it for weeks after everyone "says" it's done (I went 10 weeks)

I explain the whole method in my NooB Advice thread, it's all about learning from the myths

PS I'm an old school grower, learned before HID's were even invented

Great thread!!:!::bigjoint:
Lots of goodies in there, but unless i missed it i couldnt find any explanation to why my buds are starting to leaf out where the hairs/pistols are meant to be coming out? I have been searching all day without any results :wall:

If you or anyone you know could shine any light i'd really appreciate it.

IF you sprayed your plants with any insecticide soap or soap water it will brown your pistols and it takes a couple of days for them to start growing white ones again. The last two weeks there is a bud swell for sure but its not recommended to flush so often as others have mentioned how much they love it. Flushing is going to also flush needed mico nutes and you may be hurting the plants instead of helping also flushing makes the soil very dense and you lose some of the ability to properly oxygenate roots. Only flush at the end when you are supposed to I do not recomment flushing at the beggining and then again later. If you water your plants correctly and allow for some run off every other time you water there is no need for an early flush. Noobs continously will offer new tricks and swear by them, remember just because it does not kill the plant does not mean it helped it in anyway. Flush at the end and only flush if you over nuted and need it. You should not be flushing just to flush, its better to control your nutes better and allow some runoff every other watering and flush at the end like most people. Its your plants and you can do whatever so good luck on future grows

Thanks heaps for your input.
Its amazing all these people who talk like they are grow GODS but when faced with a diffucult question they'd rather be silent than wrong lol
Understand what your saying about the nooby tricks people swear by.

The only reason there was flushing going on is because i thought it was time to harvest. ive done excess of 15 odd grows outdoors, and when my buds look like they did it was 9 times outta 10 spot on.
I am going to begin my nutrient regiment again as i think your right, i did spray with canadian express spray safe, in saying that it was a few weeks before the hairs went brown though.
Is that normal??

Also whats your views on these leaves coming out of the calyx's like thres 2 hairs and then its like the calyx itself is growing into a leave

:weed: :joint::?

I don't think the hairs turning brown hurts at all, but may retard the growth a bit while it regrows the pistols. I have had to spray late in flower to control white flies and don't like the fact that it browns the hairs but have seen them grow back fine and then continue growing. I like to water maybe twice without runoff then on the 3rd watering I still use nutes but allow some good runoff so there is no salt buildup and also the nute ratios remain the same as what I am feeding them. When you feed the plant its not always going to absord the same amount of nutes so if your feeding a 5-5-5 and they only absorb 4-3-4 then there is some leftover nutes hanging around then you go feed again and not allow runoff who knows wtf ratio you end up with on top of crazy PH levels. Runoff is your friend instead of major flush in the middle of your grow. Flush at the end, it would better probably to transplant into a bigger pot rather than flush early. Better to put the plants into looser soil with more room than compact the soil with an un needed early flush.

Wish you had a picture of this. I have seen this when I re-veg a plant. New growth starts from the bud. First leaves then branches. Have you checked your light timers to make sure they are working properly?

I have also seen this in some strains near the end when I have added a bud enhancer.

Just a thought.

Will add a picture tommoro. I have checked timers at lights off and they are working fine and i am not using any enhancers and havnt nuted for about a week and a half.
Will be starting a standard blooming 2 part next feed though.

Photos to come though mate stick around.
Thanks for input.bongsmilie:peace:bongsmilie

There would be no advantage to transplanting now will there??
I will take that theory into account if i strike this problem again mate.. thanks

Most of the time leaves or single-bladed leaflets will protrude from the buds. Maybe you have a plant with a low calyx:leaf ratio?

Pistils don't turn brown and then turn back to white. Once they mature (reddish/orange then to brown) they don't go back. The explosion of white pistils you see is just new growth.

Many strains will continue shooting out white pistils indefinitely through harvest, which is why they are a bad thing to judge when to harvest by.

Do you have a microscope and have you checked the trichomes?

First of all.
Hey mate welcome!

See this is why im so confused!
Because the hairs that were reddish/brown a week ago the same hairs are now bright white again. im aware of colour change process and it went right through yelow red brown then back to white.

Also your view on calyx to leaf ratio is interesting.. they are just single leaves coming out. is it normal for those leaves to start so late in flowiring?
i will be adding pics today so keep an eye out.

They dont really show what im talking about well

Thought id chuck this in to different strain. All one plant. dont even fit screen (STINKIEE)
