I agree, they would rather escape. But, if they feel threatened in any way they will fight. If anyone here thinks they could beat a scared, fully grown, cornered raccoon in a fight...I'd like to hear it.

I mentioned, in passing, someone's errant spelling the other day. A general courtesy, if you will. So, he called me out on a grammar/spelling error. But, my grammar and spelling were impeccable (in that post) he used "off" instead of "of." I didn't have the heart to correct THAT along with pointing out his error in calling my spelling out.

LMAO, your talking to a person who has a wild animal permit and has kept red belly piranhas, pure bred wolves,
alligators, viscous snake heads etc...btw, when I had the Amazon piranhas, I would clean the inside of the tank with bare hands and zero fright. You just have too know how to handle them and the others so a 20 pound threat to me is for the kiddies.

I never said i was joyed killing it. i was joyed taking vengance on something that was damaging my livelyhood.
and as for the excitement, i grew up in a city. ive never got to ever exact revenge in what i beloeved to be a unique and amusing method.this shit just dosent happen erryday for me.
and to all the peoe whose heart bleeds for that raccoon, im sorry. but i did what i felt was the thing to do. you dont have to like it, but its done.
and sunno, just cause no one reported rabies in 45 years dosent mean rabbies is any less serious. and who kbows, maybe they died before reporting it. and i live on on thevother side of canada.
