Vortex, Cannadential and RockLock soil grow...

I cheated. Cut a few of the lower scraggley buds off for a taste test. Being that the Cannadential has two weeks left, i cut some off it, trimmed and put it directly in front of a computer fan for a day. It dried out and I smoked a little bit a few minutes ago. Good buzz and I could tell this may have some good flavor. For being dried out in front of a fan for a day it was harsh but it was above expectation in taste and smell! I can't wait to pick the rest in two weeks. One more feeding and i will flush the rest of the way, with the last three days in darkness.

Triche shots from the Cannadential and RockLock. RL is showing about 20% amber with plenty of cloudy. The Canna is still clear for the most part. hope to cut both soon, but it looks like the RL will be first.

As you can see, my Vortex plants have begun to yellow quite a bit. Funny thing is, the Canna and RockLock should be done sooner but have far less yellowing in the fan leaves. These were taken a few days ago. I'm not worried about the yellowing now, it's natural being that they are all on day 49 now. The RL and Cannadential should get harvested in the next week and a half. The Vortex looks like it will go longer with the exception of one indica dominant plant that is really filling in nicely. I will probably keep feeding the other two sativa heavy vortex plants, but everything else is getting water and molasses from here on out. I should have some new pics up tonight or tomorrow. Again, feel free to comment, leave suggestions or ask me a question, Thanks! FF

Here is some pics from tonight, right after the light went on. The first is kinda blurry, it's the Cannadential. The second is the RockLock. The third, fourth and fifth are of the vortex plants and some bud closeups.

Does anyone have any opinions on flushing or how early you start? I have already started flushing the RL and Canna because their trichs are starting to cloud and showing a few reds as well. Is it OK to flush with molasses or should i go straight water? From how it looks right now, my vortex plants could use a couple weeks yet to fill in, still mostly clear trichs except for the indica dominant one. So I'm holding off on flushing them yet.

Damn brotha! How sweet! Two of my favorite strains there! Love the Vortex and Rocklock. Give them at least a good month cure and hold onto your shorts....let the rides begin :)
Much respect, you have a very legit setup, and you certianly know what you are doing! +rep

Flushing with molasses is my technique. I start about 2 weeks from harvest and make sure to atleast get 3-4 good flushes before harvest.

Yeah, I'm loving the looks of all three strains. The RL was just checked again under the microscope and it went to over fifty percent amber on the top buds. Since I have been flushing the RL for close to a week, I'm going to hack the top buds and let the lower ones go a few more days. Probably in the dark.
Thanks for the solid advice on using the molasses during flushing!

Here is a few pics I took last night of my three vortex girls. I'm going to check trichs on all of them again tonight. Two may be getting close, and they all need another watering. So I'll check trichs before nuting, in case I need to start flushing a few of the vortex.

Trichs were all cloudy and began gaining amber to them so i decided to cut both Cannadential plants. Here is a pic of them drying and a pic of some buds after the first trimming. I trim once then will go back again a few days later and touch up again....I always miss some the first time so it's a nice system for me.

Hello! I just curious what your judgement call was on the Vortex? I am growing it as well and am just trying to get a feel for how long the diiferent pheno's are taking. Thanks and I enjoyed finding/reading this thread! Those vortex shots at the end are sick:)

Thanks for reading my thread! I have three different plants all showing different pheno's. The one I chopped tonight had the most Indica in it of the three. It has kind of a spicy smell to it. The second pheno is similar to the first in smell except the buds are longer and more on the sativa shape. It's going to flower at least a few more days. Trich's not there yet. The third is going to go at least another two weeks, it smells like lemon when i touch the buds. It has a lot of filling in to do, but the buds should be huge on it. All of them are now on day 56 of bloom. I will put out a smoke report after a month of curing. Too early to say what i think, but it sure does look great so far! Here is a few pics after the first trim...

Nice, Thanks for the answer. I had an unexpected trip come up that I'll have to take when the plants are at day 60. I was just hoping they will be mostly mature by the time I have to leave.....as leaving them to finish while I'm gone is not an option (safety reasons). I think I have a fairly similar situation going with the phenotypes too, 3 females looking like they have a little more Indica in them.....and 1 that stretched like crazy and has a more Sativa look to it. I guess I'll just harvest at day 60 and see what I get! Thanks again for your reply....enjoy those meds!

Thanks for the kind comments! Good to hear from other people growing the same strain! I have a few going out in the woods myself. They should be Beasts come august when they start to bud!

I will yield about an ounce to an ounce and a half per plant from the looks of what i have cut and trimmed. They are still drying and will go into to curing jars in a few days. I had the plants in 3 gallon pots but should have left them in the 1 gallon pots because i vegged them a month less than i wanted to. I'm going to do another batch herte soon when the clones veg long enough. Thanks!
