They say +/-% of light output at different depths from the panel in the website. The reader tells a different story. Doesn't mean Jack though. All the bulb manufacturers do exactly the same thing. Whether it be Eye-Hortlux to Son-T by Phillips. They say anything to sell. At the end of the day it's what's in the bag come harvest.

So post you your results. What par meter you got? Are you working it on a grid? And most importantly is the light level where it ha hangs

Contest winning showed today. More plant pics tonight from under the xs4000. But until then this is a p1500 from viparspectra a nice 150w board would make great supplemental light or a nice clone/seeding light 3E992A2A-DB3E-4CCF-A2E7-35DA2AD626A1.jpeg9AED8E7C-BCCE-46D2-B983-3A04CBE0996D.jpeg13797276-FD52-4017-BB43-BDC33A01434B.jpeg

I have seen after market cords so you can remote mount the ballast. My XS2000 goes into use tomorrow. Do you have it cranked and is it getting hot. They seem to have a pretty good heat sync to dissipate heat. Have you got a fan on it?
I bought 2 usb powered fans off ebay. Because it's winter where I am I've also had to put a little fan heater in the tent to keep it at 25C while the light is on. Found the heatsinks on 100% were getting to the point where it was hard to hold my hand on them. The little fans knocked that problem on its head immediately. With the heat laser gun they are only about 22C under the fans. Before that they were over 50

Some harvest shots @ViparSpectra Grower The xs4000 has preformed above my expectations!! This light completely rocked a 4x4. Heat wasn't an issue like some other flat boards due to the simple heatsink fins used by viparspectra definitely a great design. Plants grew super healthy and dense under this board I got to say I am truly impressed with the XS series, and would recommend it to others with out any doubt in my mind. I look forward to starting a new run under it.

Just out of curiosity sake. What was the weight per wattage? Was it consistent with the gram per watt of the HPS? Or does it exceed that due to the xs4000 being a replacement for a HPS 1000?

I saw a you tube one of someone using a spider farmer equivalent that pulled 2.8g per watt on a GG#4 grow

Is one of these really enough for a 4x4 tent?
I'm in the process of replacing my 600W HPS to a led and this one is looking really promising. I've just seen lots of people recommending this to a 2x4 tent and I wanted to make sure this is enough for a whole 4x4 tent?

thanks for taking the time to post this. I hadn’t made an account on here at the time, but it was your thread that convinced me to pull the trigger on getting an XS1500. I absolutely love it.

Can anyone confirm that this is enough for 4x4 as multiple sources have stated it's meant for 2x4?
I used the XS2000 in a 2x4 and it did great, this would be overkill for a 2x4. the issue with these lights are they are rectangular instead of square so not sure how a 4000 would work in a 4x4.

I would use two of the XS2000 in a 4 x 4 if it were me. You would have more control on where you place them than having the long XS4000. The XS4000 is literally two XS2000s on the same heatsink with a Y power cable to power two meanwell drivers. But the XS2000 is rated for a 2 x 4 flower size. The XS4000 is rated for a 5 x 4 flower footprint according to viparspectra.

This thread shows how the xs4000 did in a 4x4 it did great coverage was solid it out did what the 600w hps use too in the same space I’ll be starting another run with it here soon

I did not go back through the thread so if you used it in a 4x4 than I would bow to your personal experience here. I used the XS2000 and it worked perfectly in a 2x4. Even when I look at the par chart it shows the xs4000 in a 2x4. I would be interested to see how that translates par wise to a 4x4 just because the shape of the light being rectangular and than distributing light to a square tent does not make sense to me. I am not talking down the light, I really loved the 2000 and the rectangular shape made it ideal for my 2x4. Would love to see the below par chart redone in a square 4x4. Even their ad says "Perfect for 5’x4’ vegetative coverage at 28”and 5’x3’flowering coverage at 24”. You can see how they drop it to a 5x3 for flowering due to the shape of the light.

Yea I ran it in a 4x4 it did well I was worried about the shape of the light as well but it didn’t seem to matter much. (I didn’t run a par test) but it did light the whole tent and buds on the edge were just as fat as plants more towards the center so it did its job for me. I was running tester plants in this tent and I was overall happy with the performance of the light the only thing about the vipar lights that I didnt like was they didn’t install a on off switch but the timer does that so it was only a small complaint
