I have to admit I'm a bit "old school?". I had viparspectra 900w for my 3x3 tent a few years ago. Awesome light that is still running well in my grow. Heard that these blurple leds are discontinued now and just worry that I won't have parts for replacement in the future. lol. I have no problem now though.

Yeah, tell me about it. It seemed like every LED light out there was improving something or adding something every month. I wanted to buy a few...but then the ones I was planning on getting went completely belly up. Ironically, many of the lights that were once considered as cheap and bad are now taking over....Spider Farmer, etc.

If you really want to get a sense of what's out there, now, just go to YouTube and search for Migro. He's in Ireland and he owns a lighting store and he tests and compares a lot of the popular lights.

The blurple lights are antiques now.

Yeah, most of blurple lights are discontinued, replace to SMD chips or Bar lights. Yes, I can find what I want in Youtube.
Thanks.

I’ve got diy cobs but I still use my Vipar600. It doesn’t have a single bad diode, technology moves on but often not as fast as marketers make it out to be. I have Mars lights too. All of them grow killer flower.
the drivers and diodes can be replaced, I’ve done it before to other lights

My viparspectra 900w still work perfect for after many years, very impressed.

LOL! Yes...And I remember Greengenes and GrowMau5 going on endlessly nitpicking about stuff. And then there was "Jeff" from Area 51 who didn't hesitate to growl at anyone else who dared to try and build a business or design growlight...because only HE knew what was what. LOL!

And then there were the NASA endorsed ApacheTech lights that actually were blurple....go figure. Now, they have discontinued that light but still make their other models and have added bar light -which appears to use the PLC (GreenGenes) designed strips....small world.

And speaking of GrowMaus...Didn't he get a job at ChilLED for awhile, but then quit and started working for HLG or somebody? GrowMau5 built some light of his own back in the day that were pretty far advanced. He certainly seemed to know what he was talking about, anyway.

Ya Growmau5 was knowledgeable, he got me started but still yet he was bashing blurple for years over IMO just petty stuff. But hats off to him

Da Mau5 is working at HLG and was at chilled, correct!
I've got a few blurples downstairs with bad LEDs, solder joints or drivers just sitting - send a PM if you want to pay shipping to gut em...
I sold all my functional ones several years ago and they were replaced with mostly HLG panels (132's, 288's) and a few amz 48v QB style panels but I don't really use them as I have 5 tents but only use 2 mostly. The worst thing I can fault the blurples for is the heat!
I've got 24 QB132's in one with around 800 watts of drive and they'll take twice that but I can't maintain 77°F then! lol
