Thinking about it folks, I really shouldn't have started a new thread for my new grow. I should have just carried on with this thread which is what I am now going to do. I am going to finish my new grow on this thread instead and link my other thread to this one 
. Day 55 of flower and buds are beginning to swell. Hopefully they will finish in another 2 weeks as I really want to take them all down together.

Ok. After a lot of deliberation I have finally set my sights on the LED I want. Its the Pro Grow 400 (actual draw of 250w). I have heard and seen many good things about this light and I want it ! But living in Europe I dont know if there will be any problems coming through customs without some nosy custums officer getting suspicious. Has anyone in Europe ordered from Pro Grow previously and got their light without any hassle ? Would be interested in hearing from anyone who has. These lights are the dogs bollocks from what I have seen.

Importing into the EU from the USA you will 100% get your parcel inspected, doesn't matter what you are importing, they want the import duty and taxes paid!
I try to buy PC parts from EU dispatched firms or import from Alibaba, I've yet to get hit for duty on a product from China but the USA it's every bloody time.
Although oddly I've found stuff from the US doesn't always get here and getting a refund is nigh on impossible as it depends on the goodwill of the US based company. It's not a criticism of the US companies, the EU isn't their biggest market and there are no workable rules to protect private EU consumers that import from outside the borders. Highly rated Chinese companies on Alibaba would rather give you the product for free than get a bad rating so the consumer is protected providing they choose carefully who they buy from.
Led panels shouldn't cause too much of a stir but it's possible some fascist Customs idiot might get a bit excited.

Wholly crap, sounds like a bit of a police state if they're questioning LED imports. What, you can't grow indoor tomatoes, beans and the like? I can see some Canadian customs guy stealing it maybe, but there's no legal (or any) ground for them to reject a freak'n LED panel.

Nah, customs won't pursue you but they are quite within their rights to pass your name on to the nearest police station to your address. Who knows if a bored cop who didn't get laid the night before might decide to do his "duty" and poke around

Yes there is always the possibility of that which is what concerns me about importing from outside the EU. But I was reading on a thread somewhere where some guy from Ireland said he had ordered a pro gro and got it delivered without any problems. I suppose they could always label them as aquarium lights ? I am actually more concerned at this stage ablut their seemingly bad reputation for poor customer service. Seems to be quite a few complaints about them.

I think its a good quality LED at 200 actual watts. I will probably end up buying another Vipar after all, they have a 500w 5w chip LED currently on ebay which Im very tempted by. Nothing beats growing your own for quality smoke.

Again, know your rights, if your country has them. They cannot do that legally, any decent lawyer would get that thrown out of court, I know mine would. There has to be a basis for them to poke around, buying an LED light off e-Bay would not be one of those. And, even if they did come poking around, where's the warrant is my first question, no warrant, no talk, get the fuck off my property. People would only get busted on something like this if they succumbed to pressure/bull-shit tactics. Hold your rights and you'd have nothing to worry about. Been there done that so I'm speaking from experience. I drive hot sports cars and motorcycles, get followed all the time, and have been pulled over for no reason, if they don't have something solid/concrete to pull me over, all they get is my lawyer's card, I keep some in my glove box and my bike jacket. Don't succumb to bullying and they'll back off, remind them they have to follow the law as much as you do. Hi GroErr whats up ? Started your new grow yet ? Unfortunately we now live in shall we say very interesting times with more and more authority (not to mention our taxes) being transferred from the people to the state. It might be against the law but I wouldnt put it past them to chance their luck.

Absolutely, they will try, but a police state becomes a police state because the people stand for it, push back, hold your ground and they'll move on to the next easy victim/target. 90% of people that get busted/convicted, helped themselves get convicted, repeat after me, talk to my lawyer, here's his card... lol
On a more interesting subject, yes, just going to flip these babies to 12/12 and under the LEC Sun System 315W CMH, with the LED tubes on the sides (108W total actual draw for those LED DIY side "panels"), on Sunday. They'll have been running at 14/10 for 10 days by then under the LED's. They're stretching out nicely and filling that footprint
I'm away Monday - Thursday on a bike trip so I'll probably journal/post this grow next weekend in the LED/Other light section. It looks like they all turned out fems so I may take the small Blueberry in this pic below, bottom-left corner out and breed it, it's not going to produce much but it's ready to flower so I may just make some seeds out of it and keep the 4 bigger one's for this run. Will be trying to maintain a 3x3' footprint this round. Should be interesting to see the difference between these 315W CMH and the LG LED buds, basically the same wattage (LG "450W" I ran last round draws 300W). I'll be running the LED Tubes on the sides mainly to see if they make any difference to lower branches/popcorn. Cheers.
