is this video accurate? i might try this method myself. is there a substitute for the silk screen?

if not where can i get a silk screen from?

Any fine cloth (e.g. muslin) can be used. The screen just serves to separate the resin glands from the rest of the plant material, kind of like a sieve.
The pollinator grinders use a metal mesh to achieve a similar result.

so i could just use a cooking sieve? then get the 'brown' tch from the plant parts that way?

You could, but the mesh size would probably be too big. Using a big mesh size will result in more plant material ending up in your hashish, which will reduce its potency. Ideally you want a mesh that has holes that are about 125 microns in size (0.125 of a millimetre). These are available from pyrotechnics hobby suppliers, such as Skylighter in the US and Inoxia in the UK, although they may be available for less at other places (I've yet to look). Try Googling for "120 mesh screen".

Edit - Fine mesh bags are available as aquarium filters, and are pretty cheap. Plus, they're a bag, so I guess you could just put your plant material inside, then put a plastic bag over the filter and shake it.

i have never heard of those places but i think i might have an idea of a shop near me in the UK. its called hobbycraft if any1 has heard of it. they sell loads of stuff like that. ima check it out when i get chance then ill probably try this method.

Everyone that grows more that 3 plants at a time needs to be making Bubble Hash -its so simple. When trimming your bud, collect all the trimmed leaves - mainly the smaller crystal coated ones, don't worry about the Shade leaves.

You will need one of these

It's called a Bubbleator, by the way! All you have to do it load the machine with ice and water - place your trim into a bag which sits inside the machine.
Turn on, wait 15 minutes for the crystals to seperate. You can then empty the machine collecting bubble hash in the supplied catching sacs!

Last time I think we trimed about 3-4 plants and got about 4 grams of the finest bubble hash Ive ever smoked.

IF the bubbleator is out of budget you could probably made do with the
Bubble sacs alone.


the great thing about this process is you get to actually smoke your crop before your weed is dry ( the hash can be tried in a day when rolled flat)

Only use decent fresh weed - e.g. if you have left some trim on the window sill and it is starting to smell a bit off, dont use it - your hash will only be as good as the weed you put into it!!!

I forgot that there are commonly available hash making kits at headshops. Talk about doing things the hard way hehe.

even the bags are to expensive for me. this is my 1st and last grow, i dont wanna be buying anything im not gonna use again.

i dunno, i guess it depends on how much u make. the more u make the longer its gonna take.

im just gonna leave it in there for half a day then check it, then another half a day then check it the next morning.

This is a WICCA Kief box, the very best one on the market. There is one slightly larger and one slightly smaller, and oyu'll need one to make HIGH GRADE blone Lebonese or Blonde Afganey Hash. You can buy them at a "head shop" or "smoke shop" or "herbal accessories" store or order them off the internet. Do NOT get a GRINDER Box or Spaceship Box. They make low green or brown grade hash.

Left over FAN leaves are better to make OIL. The left over trim leaves are for making HASH.
Those CRYSTALS, (slang term) on the leaves are called trichomes, while they are still on the leaves. In Europe, they call them resin glands. AFTER you remove them, they are called KIEF.
After you bake them, into a lump or chunk or cake, they are called HASH. That is where the HEADY HIGH THC is.

Most people make HASH a difficult way, called Bubble Hash with ICE and Ice water and BAGS. If you google HASH, youtube, you can watch 300 videos on how to make hash. The most difficult way is BUBBLE hash with ice water, if you are doing DIY. If you can afford a Bubblator, that is the best. I use a strainer, or filter or screen, that is in my kief box, to remove them.
MUCH EASIER FOR ME!. Get a kief box of a permanent metal coffee filter and I'll help you. It is easy the way I do it! Or go by a T-Shirt Prinitn place and ask for some silk screen.

You need to use more than one screen size when using the water method. Just go look at the adds for the bags to see what size they have. I use two different screens, One is about 240 micron(sheer materal that I got at Walmart for $1.98 a yard). I do ice water and then alcohol extration (just like doing green dragon but evaporate all the alcohol off so I can smoke it) on the lower grade that I get. Dry screen (IMO) is way to much work for what you get out of it. I've only seen one seperator that a friend had bought. The screen was way to large to get any good hash out of. It's called Bubble hash because it is supposed to bubble when you smoke it. That pure is not easy to do and is not necessary to get some really good hash. Just ask my friends.
