In Alberta the only way anyone can legally drink on a boat is if the anchor is down and the boat has a toilet. The captain has to be sober and have a pleasure craft operators license. The vehicle thing is the same here too. Impairment charges are easily beat here for a $10,000 lawyer fee as long as no other charges were given with it.

in New York you can drink and drive your boat and cheers the cops as you drive by,,

youre allowed to act as a responsible adult there EH! lol

There was a case in sania a few week back that dealt with this exact problem. Originally was convicted of dui and possession. Was overturn to dui only as judge said being a legal user supersedes the dui. Btw he admitted to be dui and meds where rolled joints only. Dont know if he got it back.

Sober person...that means you can have a few drinks up to the legal limit under anchor. So long as you are not legally impaired.

I guess in this case I could puff up to the Ontario limit for THC. Then puff some more just because the law is an ass.

This isn't exactly a problem.

A locking bag (zippered pouch with a lock) or a similar arrangement where you cannot readily get into the bag while driving would pass under this law. Your glove box (if locked) would also comply. Your trunk would comply. A locking waterproof box (tackle box or similar) would comply.

Shit, you only need pencil case with two zipper pulls and a small 3-tumbler code lock to comply with the letter of this law - it could be on the seat next to you and you could easily and correctly argue in court that by having it locked it is not readily accessible.

The spirit of this law is to prevent people from having open, ready to consume weed in the car. Spend the $10-20 on a "go pouch" and lock and you've got literally nothing to worry about.

That's a valid argument. I can't see a reason it couldn't work. All LP products are in child proof containers.
