They really are... once they start growing and get their big boy nutes it'll be time to take cuts later this week as well -- yet another thing to prepare for 2-3 weeks til flower!
I grow in the southwest and everything is alkaline here. The wells around here are around 9 and even the rainwater is in the 8s since when it runs off the roof it picks up the alkaline water. Even the compost here is almost 8. I grow both in and out in soil. I noticed a marked improvement in the quality and color of the plants when I started to add 1 teaspoon of vinegar to each gallon of water. That brought the ph into the 6s. One day I added too much vinegar and it went into the 5s but I watered anyway. Well the next day the plants looked even better so I started to water with water in the 5 range (2 teaspoon/gallon) and so far they look fabulous. I figure the acidic water is compensating for the alkaline everything around here. But I do watch it cause it is easy to overdo something and fuck it all up.I tested my rainwater a couple of weeks ago and it was 5.5 and 5.7 in the two clean containers I had sitting out. I have started using lower pH water on my outdoor plants with great results.
My hydro guy says he uses calmag and sensi a/b on his seedlings and gets great results. That is what I tried and it worked really well with Sunshine #4 mix.
I know that but for some reason didn't remember it.. unfortunately the vents they have here are not like any I've seen... i'm not sure they can even be closed they're not the standard type I've had in every other place I've lived. The irony is that down the hall where my daughter is sleeping is where I had originally planned for this room to be, and it is the coldest room in the house and would not have these issues... the one the grow is in is the 2nd hottest. I guess one thing I should do is go ahead and get that window plastic'ed over so that the heat from the sun is not coming inside in late day.Go around the house, and close(partially) all the vents except the one in the room.
Itll create higher pressure in the vents and that'll be the easiest out!
Well the issue as always is in a rental, vent to where? I can't put in permanent ventilation out anywhere... it's not in a cab now it's in a room and the room is getting too hot with the 2 extra lights (was fine with just 2 lights, apparently 4 is too much) -- which means a 400w HPS + 6 LEDs is definitely going to be too much for the room to take... I think the other room would take it no problem. If I could just leave the door open so the room got the house air it'd be fine as well... I could move the grow to the mancave... not sure if there's room in there for the full pyramid of power though it's a lot smaller. pyramid of power, one day you will be mine.... but not for a while it seems... now my daughter is saying she's probably going to be here til november (ie, the rest of the grow up til harvest time).Just checking in here sesi.........looks like a great grow going on!
I just finished reading....Scottyballs thread....in a waterfarm system....in a coleman cabinet...he cools the cab with a 485cfm dayton fan.
ps...when you going to display still shots dude?...can not view video here
