robbed wtf? why dont you just move from wherever you have been getting robbed from and not tell anyone where you live? this way you could stack some cash before moving to cali.. im telling you its expensive as hell to move out here.. if you want a house expect first months rent plus a deposit which is usually 2x first months rent (at least in norcal).. and everything is much more expensive.. just a thought

good luck with your endeavours

Thanks for the advice but I assure I've done my homework, been looking to move to northern CA for 2 years now since the laws eased up. Don't need a house, not looking to grow at first just anxious to continue testing designs.
We are looking for people who would possibly be interested in redesigning their flat gardens to vertical and allow us to test new things here and there.

We have family in LA, but would rather try living up north first and trying to get our designs built for someone. I see less chances of that happening in LA.

A studio apartment with all utilities included is $400 in Humboldt county, thats cheaper then in Miami where you would pay $600 easy

I am somewhere in southern cali. I use LED as my main light source and am so moved by my results that I have started my own Lighting business here and also build led operations for other medical patients. I would love to collaborate with you maybe introduce some leds into your room designs and see what happens? Lemme Know!

Sorry to hear about your bad misfortune with assholes.

I really hope that is wasnt someone that you were helping out. I hate seeing bad karma turn on good people.

Hey everyone Detchord and I have been chatting it up about building an LED vertical setup. It might be expensive but it would by far be the most efficient way to grow.

How many of you would dish out the cash to try that out?

Re: Mrduke
We are always willing to help people converting, post your design here and I'm sure a lot of us would have lots of great input. And no worries on hijacking my thread, I'd like to have some useful information flowing.

fuck bro! Great stuff...come harvest time, youre gonna have a load of work on your hands. Better stop by the front of home depot and pick up some *people* to help trim it!! HAHAHAHHAHAA jk :D great work though. I love the slit in the side of the pot. Great design. Good work!

Aha I was waiting for someone to mention the pots, some people have gone to great lengths to build crazy things to hold their pots at an angle for vertical but I just dont see the reason why.

I cant wait to harvest a screen of bud thats 5ft high:leaf:

Dude its fantastic! You can literally stack pots and pots on top of each other, and let them grow out wards! You can also consider manipulating them with screens, to get them closer to the light or to distinguish each plant so they dont get tangled within each others branches causing a mess. :D

yeah the thread is titled vertical scrog because of the screen, is it that hard to see in the pics?

I see it now!

BTW I live in northern california and support what youre doing! Sorry to hear about what has happened. I just read the entire thread. If you move to norcal ill be more than welcome to design some stuff with you. Or just help you out for fun :D

Good news today, we may possibly have the funds soon to build a setup when we arrive in cali next month.

But we still may not have enough to rent a house. :(

If anyone needs a pair of tech savy room mates, let us know.

Hey I hope everything is going well for you, I assume you've made the move and don't have access to internet frequently-if at all. Just thought i'd let you know you got my support! I think what you're doing is great. I saw your old thread like a year ago, very inspiring and idea provoking.

I had some questions though(it will probably be weeks-maybe months-before you're checking this but someday ill read your reply). But anyway... I must be missing out on some pics, but how do you plan on keeping the room sealed when you push the sides together? Also, the light won't be able to hang dead center because the center will be where the sides seperate correct?

And for the idea you have given me, I wanted to do a 6x6x8 using 2 600s(better specrum so i'll probably never go thouy). But my concern is space. Socal gets fuckin HOT so i need to go 8" cooltube, and with 9" shelves that only leaves me 2ft of walking space in between the light. Im not fat but still, I've already realized anything over 16 plants in there and watering will be a sunburn nightmare. Im thinking you need 1000w's with vert for space unless you've got removable walls, which almost seems like too much complication. I'd love to hear more details though.

You asked earlier about veging vertical or horiz. Definitely do vertical, like it was mentioned before: you don't want your plants to waste growth growing toward an overhead light when they're going to have to go through a dramatic change when flowering(also wasted time during the 1st week having to move towards the light, and I'm sure "waste" is not something a person like you'd allow :D )

Stay positive! :peace: :joint:

We made it! We are living in the desert outside of LA. We found a great house to rent and our landlord used to grow and has more space for us at his house to start experimenting again. We have been collecting strains and cloning to exchange with other patients to pay for our equipment. Its been hard living so far out of town but an experience none the less. If anyone watching our threads lives in LA, we'd love to get in contact as we have no friends anywhere near here.

So far we have collected the following strains LA confidential, Blueberry, OG Purple Kush, Headband, Green Crack (Mango?), Sour Diesel, Bubble Gum, & Bubba Kush. All this in less than a month of being here. We hope to be able to start a budding room soon with whatever money we have left over. And who knows maybe soon we'll finally be testing those new vertical designs. Its hot as hell out here but nothing beats having proposition 215.

I will be linking to pictures soon.

greenlight??? I think it was you that gave me the forum at a hydro shop.If so thanks!!!

Ive read everything in your vertical journal series.

Well now that you have met up with that fellow whos name escapes me, are you going to use leds? I am looking to experiment with led grow setups myself. Then I stumbled across your thread, towards the end you look into leds and I was caught. Id like to know the setup design prospects. Also, are you planning to make your 2part grow box sealed as to no air leaks for complete control of the smell. Also, do you scrub airconditioned air before pumping it into your chamber?

One other LED related question:
What type of LEDs are being used? Can they compare to the LumiGrow Leds?

Thanks
