alright so right now im running 4 350 watt high powered CFL bulbs and 3 smaller cfls. 3 of the big ones are in my flowering area with one of the smaller ones and my veg closet has the other big cfl n the 2 smallest ones. they work fine but its a lot of wiring and bullshit to deal with and i just plain want to switch back over to HID lighting. ive been looking in to going with either a vertical shade or just get a ballast, cord, and bulb. what do you guys think? my flower room is 9 ft x 6 1/2ft. i had a 400 watt hps before and it worked well for the number of plants i was running but ive made the area bigger and will have all the ventilation finished shortly. im basically just splitting a bedroom in half with a biig sheet of black and white poly and i'll put a tarp door somewhere on there and ill probably just be using a couple axial fans for ventilation for now. i'm not too worried about the smell for right now. so pretty much i'm just asking opinions on running vertical hps with or without a shade, or should i just go horizontal hps?? all help is appreciated. thanks

do you have issues with temps ? if not i would go with a 1000 watt vert with a parabolic reflector for that size room

if you're good with setting up and dont mind some extra work, and want maximum gram/watt do vertical. if you want it simple less wor smaller space normal yield, do horizontal.

there we go, much help guys. i dont really have heat issues cuz i vent directly thru a window....i thought about running 1000, my buddy has 2 hell loan me along with a 7ft flood table so im considering that, just tryna keep it mildly low key since it aint quite legal here. im definitely leaning towards a parablic reflector tho, they look like they work well

I would run two 600w HPS or two 1000w HPS. Also you might consider air cooling the light using cooltubes to aircooled hoods so you can put lights closer to the plants. It all depends on your budget. If your watching your budget just run one 1000w parabolic and use some of your CFL's to fill in the corners with supplemental lighting:D.

Best Of Luck
